game is too slow. americans like intensity. fifa needs to make the game more offensive. its a great game, but some professional games are so boring.

personally, the first thing they need to change is the sub rule. high school games are faster because players can run their hearts out and then take a break, but in professional they have to stay in the whole game. there might be quicker bursts in prof, but the overall pace is way too slow.

why does fifa need to change the rules of the most popular sport in the world? seriously usa gets everything they want, and fifa shuldnt have to change the rules of this sexy game just cause of americans. if they did, the world would for sure hate the us.

When it comes to international soccer, there is national pride involved when 2 countries play each other. I don't think America understands that. Why would they cheer for a soccer team to beat another country when they can just invade that country instead? :) j/k

It is like I said before.  They cheer when their hockey/basketball etc... plays a international match because USA (I think) is one of the best in that sport while in soccer they are just avarage..

USA is shit at Hockey, they may be good at Icehockey, but they fail at Hockey.

Hockey =/= Icehockey and Football =/= American Football

The world already for sure hates the US.  Soccer is just one aspect of it.

Americans don't like "soccer" as much because there aren't enough breaks where they can go buy hot dogs and nachos :P

Europe , African and South American nations lead the world in international soccer.

Most Americans are big guys so they prefer playing American sports like American football, basketball and baseball which they excel at. The Americans like to be different from the rest of the world.

The acquisition of soccer legend David Beckham to play for LA Galaxy has helped boost the popularity of soccer in America. But soccer will not be as popular as American football, baseball, basketball or golf in the USA.

Wealthy Americans have invested heavily in soccer teams overseas particularly English soccer where billionaire Americans have invested in Liverpool and Manchester United Football Clubs in the English Premier League.

^ so true.

I don't know, why do Europeans hate American Football?

Well, they don't.

It's rather that

1- they have Rugby and, granted, there are lots of differences but overally, it looks the same (oval, hand, big boys), and Rugby under various forms depending on regions (Soule in France for instance) happens to have roots back to the middle-age. Kind of cultural stuff...

2- Watching American Football on TV is soooooo boring. Too much time out and way too much advertising.

Beside that, the number of american football clubs in europe is continually on the rise.

indeed .. rugby is much more entertaining to watch, because it's a "real time" game, whereas american footbal is like a "round based" game

I like playing round based RPGs and strategical games, but to watch them is a pure horror
