Forums - Sony Discussion - (PS4) Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster coming May 12

It's kind of sad the biggest reasons to get a PS4 are old games such as this. It's also retarded Square Enix didn't do the soundtrack thing properly with the PS3 version already, because I would have got that version otherwise. Now it's doubtful if I'm ever getting this because there's still not enough reasons to get a PS4 and too many reasons not to get one.

Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Ratchet & Clank, Tearaway Unfolded, Dragon Quest Heroes and Until Dawn will all come this year and will be awesome! And then there are Triple-Party games like Metal Gear Solid V, Final Fantasy XV, Final Fantasy Type 0 or The Witcher 3 which also will be all awesome! And don't forget the games which are already out, The Order: 1886, Driveclub, Infamous Second Son, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack and LittleBigPlanet 3 are all great First-Party games.

Wow! The games just keep on coming. This will sell a tidy number too. Sony really bulking up their ps4 library. #4theplayers

More like remakes just keep coming:

- The last of us remastered

- GTA V remastered

- Tomb Raider Definitive Edition

- DMC defiinitive version

- Devil May Cry 4 definitive edition

- Resident Evil Remastered

- Resident Evil Zero remastered (95% chances)

- Final Fantasy X HD / Final Fantasy X- 2 HD

- Final Fantasy Type 0 HD

- Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition

- Darksiders 2 definitive edition

- Dark Souls 2 scholar of the first sin

etc etc etc

The remake generation 4 the players imo.

I struggled so hard, almost failed many times, holding out on the PS3 version for them to bring this to PS4. I dropped several hundred hours in both of these games when they were on PS2. It comes out at a perfect time too as it will be summer as far as my University is concerned. Gonna be a good looooooong summer. (wipes tear from eye)

Thanks jlmurph!

Should I get it for Vita or remote play the PS4 version?...

Remote play on PS4 if you don't actually play your vita on the go/away from home. Also if you're a collector.

PSV if you're not too fussy, cheaper+ you can get it now.

I hope that with this release it will sell well enough to convince square to release Final Fantasy XII on the PS4/Vita.

Not that the PS3 and Vita versions didn't sell enough for a HD remake.

This is the Game of Thrones

But why ignore the original games which are in higher abundance then the remasters? Its like when people say their are too many indies, its not like theres a lack of new retail releases. Dying Light, Evolve, The Order, Bloodborne, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, RE: Revelations 2, Battlefield and Mortal combat X all in the first 4 months of 2015.

Remasters and indies aren't true reasons to get a PS4, they're perks. And if you haven't found a reason to get a PS4 yet (released or announced), you may as well stop looking.

I find unfair put the remakes on the same levels as new games, or put new games on retail on the same level as indie games.      It´s like : oh look we have 50 games this year, 30 are indies, 15 are remakes mostly from the last generation, and just 2 new games are exclusives but hey, those are many games, and that´s what matters, right? (just an exemple)

I think some people believe every indie that gets released somehow displaces or replaces a retail release. Or maybe the 'too many indies' complaint is from PS+ guys who for whatever reason want old retail releases in the Instant Game Collection rather than indies they probably passed up on.

Well with the PS4 version it will certainly go well beyond 2m, Im hoping 2.5m and Im sure FFXII HD will become a thing later down the line. Just might be waiting until after FFXV is all. Plus FFXII (especially on its own) doesnt have the same pull as X does, maybe they should throw in Tactics aswell.
