yeah the wii was insane. people must have been going nuts on this site back then.

I bet. That's why it's so interesting to go back and look at threads from back then. Things were completely different (well, not completely. Of course there were still people undermining the success of the Wii by calling it casual)

Expecially in the US, because in 1980 to 2005 more than half of Nintendo Market was in the US like XBOX...

GBA is the 6° best seller in the US, after DS, PS2, 360, Wii, and original GB with nearly 40m.

Nintendo needs to get a hold on the US market. It absolutely dominated from 2005-2009. It's a huge market, and Nintendo isn't trying hard enough to reign supreme here. They have Japan, but Europe and NA are still untapped.

Wii, DS and PS2 were absolute monsters.

i'm wondering if ps4 will be a monster. sony could allow that to happen, $100 price cut with uncharted 4 this holiday along with other console movers should do it.

Funny tho, I see 2 XBO mentions in OP and only 1 PS4. It seems when it comes to the million selling period of the time XB1 dominates more than PS4 :P

1) 3,810,000 (Wii, December 2009)

That number alone is pretty mind blowing. Almost 4 million consoles, in one month, in one market.

I think that is more incredible the 1,040,000 DS in April 2009... the only non-holiday NPD when a console have break 1M.

lol the ps4 should have done less, and the xbox one should have done more considering the lengths microsoft went to sell their console

damn man put a shirt on, it's winter for fucks sakes

Great thread Ryng, 3.8 million for the Wii is truly mind blowing, I don't see any console getting that sort of number ever again.
