Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Order: I don't get it

@alfredo
dont be a person who sees something quickly and decides they NEED to disagree. Its much the same problem with the criticism of this game. Its not enjoyable to a person so by that merit they need to find a way to sync that disagreement with some established criteria.

I say this because I wasn't comparing why oot gets a good score and this doesnt. Im saying we are a bunch of sports critics who fell in love with baseball and cannot accept soccer because its nothing like baseball.
Soccer is bland because there isnt enough action. Games end in ties. There aren't any real major superstars. Its long and tedious. Its all luck.

Its a very ethno-centric way of judgement. The "in" is the best, and therefore things that dont conform are of lesser value.

I think, if you are a person who has one definitive best game of all time, you will probably mot like this game. Especially if your top 5 are similar.
if you have a tie between several games or cannot choose a top 5, or have very different genres, then its more likely u will lile this game.
Thats my opinion. Could be wrong.

I loved it. It was a great experience for me. and that moustache was incredible. If an indie dev made it the critics would have all creamed their pants. Just give up on reviewers and play. Rent if youre not sure. I bought it and i have no regrets.

What all the hating is about.

At first, I thought that due to popular consensus, a somewhat toned down critique of lacking gameplay and story was acceptable. I thought, it's a mediocre game, pretty, but lacking.

Now that I've actually played it though. I just don't see where the hate is justified. The story is really good. The atmosphere is amazing. The acting is so incredibly high quality. There isn't a moment in this game where I think it's even a bit 'over the top', and for a serious game with no jokes that's really hard to do.

The gunplay is pretty standard and the variation in weapons is nice. My personal favorite is the small machine pistol with the crazy recoil. I love just running up and blasting a line up their torso and ending with a headshot. I'm currently 6 hours in, and I feel like due to the pacing, it'll probably be 3-4 more. So, I'm not understanding the problem with length either. I feel like people take opening chests and pulling a rope as "non-gameplay", but I'm not sure who is validating the criteria of what gameplay consists.

The levels are really well thought out as well. It's obvious that there is a lot of work put into the game. Areas that don't lead anywhere are fully designed.

I'm really not sure what everyone was expecting? Sony's Gears of War?

I'm glad I own it. It's really a spectacle. Literally cannot understand all the hate.

Glad you enjoy it. Think it's just a difference of opinion on the game. I haven't played it, but I also don't have any desire to. I was expecting something entirely different from what it is in actuallity. I have seen a few reviews of the game and none have seemed very... Good. If I get a chance to play it, I'm sure I will, but it's not a game I'm buying a PS4 for.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

You forgot the biggest plus this game has: Galahad's moustache.

Did you know that all moustaches have their own real time physics running off StubbleTech™?

I also heard that the sequel will be the official sponsor of Movember.

@dusk
the thing that pushed me over the edge to get a ps4 was pt.
Perhaps my taste is just different from others.

It takes all kinds to sell a system.

Glad to hear it. I enjoyed the heck out of it and can't wait for the story to continue.

Was also nice to have a game that wasn't just mindless action majority of the way through and full of cheesy dialogue and poor voice acting like we usually see in shooter based games. To me it was very refreshing.

Mind you I haven't played through The Last of Us. That is probably somewhat similar in terms of a more serious storyline, but for some reason I keep putting that game down and never going back. Crazy, I know!

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Critic's have already admitted that they are lowering  the scores far lower then what the games deserves for click baits, because people ain't interested in their websides. Click bait. Thanks for gamers who are publicly saying that the game is great or good, so that i got nothing to fear from spending 60$ to buy it.

It's mostly XB gamers, Welfies, students, greedy, budget Gamers who mostly do the complaining, and i do understand them, except the XB gamers, since they wouldn't buy the game anyway.

The rest is just super high expectations, even though RAD did explain perfectly how this game would be at launch. CInematic and storydriven and people still complained due for fail expectations due for mislead information that lead them to wrong expectations.

People should learn to actually listen to what developer's say when they announce games. It's funny that 99% of all gamers expect that all games should be suited to them, even though we all got different taste. therefore= Different games, for different gamers and just because it wasn't right for some, doesn't mean they should hate on it because it wasn't dedicated to their taste.

PSN: Opticstrike90
Steam: opticstrike90

my eldest brother finished the game in 7 hours on heard and got over 70% of the trophies. He told the game was one of the easiest game he ever played and that the AI is really terrible as they are just bullet sponges and provide no challenge. he did enjoy the game however, he found the story average. For him the only good part of the game was graphics and the voice acting. I haven't played it yet but will do soon as hes lending me the game and i have to finish ac unity first lol.

TLOU is a very very very good game and i highly recommend it as well. One of my favorite games this gane , mainly due to the storyline and the character development developement and the interacton between the main ones.
