And what makes you think that those people are bandwagon defenders and not people who played the game and actually enjoyed it? And please don't tell you haven't noticed that most negative comments about the game come from people who have no intention of buying it and have no idea what they're talking about.

I don't think it's a love or hate game. Check most threads. Even people defending it or saying that they enjoyed it it are giving it a 7-8. I wouldn't call that love.

I think you missed my point I was making entirely and I disagree with the bolded

Don't think so, but I guess it's a way to end a discussion.

What all the hating is about.

At first, I thought that due to popular consensus, a somewhat toned down critique of lacking gameplay and story was acceptable. I thought, it's a mediocre game, pretty, but lacking.

Now that I've actually played it though. I just don't see where the hate is justified. The story is really good. The atmosphere is amazing. The acting is so incredibly high quality. There isn't a moment in this game where I think it's even a bit 'over the top', and for a serious game with no jokes that's really hard to do.

The gunplay is pretty standard and the variation in weapons is nice. My personal favorite is the small machine pistol with the crazy recoil. I love just running up and blasting a line up their torso and ending with a headshot. I'm currently 6 hours in, and I feel like due to the pacing, it'll probably be 3-4 more. So, I'm not understanding the problem with length either. I feel like people take opening chests and pulling a rope as "non-gameplay", but I'm not sure who is validating the criteria of what gameplay consists.

The levels are really well thought out as well. It's obvious that there is a lot of work put into the game. Areas that don't lead anywhere are fully designed.

I'm really not sure what everyone was expecting? Sony's Gears of War?

I'm glad I own it. It's really a spectacle. Literally cannot understand all the hate.

I wouldnt be surprised if Microsoft fanned the flames. What exclusives does Microsoft have for the first 9 months in 2015? All M$ had to do is start a few sparks everywhere to feed the trolls and a fire ensues.

But don't worry, the thing that matters is the sales of the game. I believe/hope it is going to sell 3mil or more, with ps4 being the console war leader, it is quite possible. And if they sell this number, there is a good chance for a sequel to come out. And then we will have another franchise that is much like Uncharted to enjoy.

Ori and the Blind Forest sure looks a lot more interesting than The Order.

To you, of course any PS exclusive looks uninteresting.

And The Order isn't even all that Sony has in Q1.

I didn't get it either! (Ba dum tisk)

I played chapter 4 last night, was good. Great place to explore, lovely details. Awesome recording of an old song, all through the night. Only the mini boss fight was a bit too scripted for my liking, but I can understand they don't want to go all Dark souls on limited encounters. Sure it will rub some people the wrong way that you can't dodge freely and get a slow time prompt instead. It's more like Heavy rain with a lot more freedom in the shoot outs, minus the dialogue choices.
Bloodborne will be out soon if you're more into that kind of action and hate talking. I enjoy both, and will probably get DS2 again too.

The story sucks and does not wrap up
The gameplay is subpar generic TPS stuff
The AI both friendly and enemy are atrocious
The pacing is terrible
The Lycan fights, LOL

I gave it a 5/10 and thought I was being over generous. The game desperately wants to be a movie, if it were a movie it would get 2% on Rottentomatoes probably
