So Why Do People Say "Game A" is Better than "Game B" Without Even Playing "Game B"?

Just a question

'Cause Game B sucks. Everyone knows that.

Seriously though, while I can't say if a game I haven't played is "objectively" better, I know what I like and dislike. So, for example, in the recent thread pitting Resistance vs Metroid, I can say without a doubt in my mind that I prefer the Metroid series over Resistance even if I've never played a Resistance game in my life.

Signature goes here!

Because I saw a video for Game B and it was boring, and the studio behind it one time released a game with dlc, and I don't like that genre, and 50 or so reviewers reviewed it as 65 where Game A has an average of 84

Because Final Fantasy VIII is better than any other RPG. Everyone should know that, and preach it. I'm pretty sure that was a commandment.

Because I don't have to taste shit if I already know it smells and looks like shit.

A number of reasons.

-Fanboys that just can't conceive that "game b" is better than the game they bought or from the company they support (ie: people that think inFamous SS is better than SS Overdrive)

-People that let others think for them (ie: people that believe a 91 on Metacritic destroys a 90 on Metacritic)

-People that have gamed enough to be informed and know what they like (ie: Me!)
