Forums - Gaming Discussion - Am I the only one hoping that this generation will be very short?

Next Gen...

...can't come soon enough! 45 32.37%

...can stay away for a long time 79 56.83%

Ouya is enough for every game ever. 15 10.79%

Total:139

Am I really the only one who already wants new consoles?

I mean if they introduced a new PS4/X1/WiiU at the end of next year that could play all games 1080p60 I couldn't be happier. They can keep their software but this hardware update can't come soon enough.

So who would buy a new console next year with BC included?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

At least for the Wii U, I couldn't agree more.

If the new console had backwards compatibility, then I would consider it.... but it would depend on launch titles and price.

However, I don't think that the next gen should come out really soon.. It basically just started and still has, to some degree, game droughts!

The Wii U, however, is the exception

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

I want it to be shorter than last gen, but end of next year would be too soon.

November 2017 for the Wii U's successor, and November 2018 for PS5/Xbox Two would be preferable.

I suspect that PS4/Xbone will outstay their welcome though, like last gen did.

I would like the 9th Gen to start in 2018 at the latest, and it will likely start in 2017 with the successor to the WiiU.

Around the Network

Nintendo will most likely be the first company to enter the next gen, around 2017, or possibly even late 2016.

PS4 and XBO won't be going anytime soon, though.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I wouldn`t want to jump to Ninten`s next console just yet. I want to get the most out of the tablet first and get a good set of games before moving on to the next console... : X

With 4K TVs and technology becoming more relevant and decreasing in price, it would make sense to wait until the tech/price point is there for 4K console gaming. I'm not sure what purpose of buying a new console just for the extra 20-30 frames per second would be, since it would just feel outdated again once 4K becomes the standard. Might as well build a PC if you have to have 60 FPS right now.

Not me unless there is an upgrade program

Ofc, who wouldn't want consoles with 3 year life cycles.
