Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The talents of Nintendo Software Technology are being wasted....

Just because they worked for great 3rd party studios in the past does not mean they were talented. Could have played minor roles. Granted I haven't looked at the resumes but just saying lol.

I think Retro is a wasted talent and that is because they chose to do DK to make some $$$ instead of invent. Nintendo should have paid them $$$ to invent not play it safe.

Metroid Prime Hunters was dope.
It's hard to believe that modern Nintendo games don't even have its online features (like voice chat).

Because americans are more expensive to hire in making games dueto strong dollar. Nintendo is making everything right by choosing cheaper japanese who are paid in yen

Yup. I was so sad when Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection died. That meant no more online multiplayer for Nintendo's only online shooter.

It sounds like they are a small team that mainly make fun puzzle titles and get work delegated to them from bigger teams. I hardly consider that wasted talent. Not every team at Nintendo needs to make epic games.

People claim that Retro Studios is Nintendo's only western development team. That's not true, as Nintendo Software Technology is located within Nintendo Of America's headquarters. Why are their talents being wasted? Because apparently have several ex-Rockstar, EA, and Microsoft employees. Despite that, lately, the only games they develop are Mario Vs. Donkey games Crosswords games, and a single downloadable title. What the heck, Nintendo?

So no actual talent then. :p

Well, they did make a cool Metroid game, and I don't really know why they aren't making more games.

Ugh, really? They made Metroid Prime Hunters, a Nintendo game with onlince capabilities that most modern Nintendo games don't have. And it's fun!

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

Hunters is considered one of the worst Metroid games though, that said it's a decent game and would be better off being a new IP as the approach had good potential for a new FPS franchise.
