Forums - Gaming Discussion - How much do you rely/trust game reviews?

I trust them a lot. See, I know that just because I love a game doesn't mean it's a 100% game. While I'm able to form an opinion of my own, most reviewers give an accurate summary of the games quality. Megaman Zero 3 is one of my favorite games of all-time. However, I know the game has flaws, and it is not deserving of a 9.5 score. I would say the score it got—79% at gamerankings.com—is a very accurate score, despite my fondness for this game.

Something people should always remember: A game does not have to be a triple a game for you to love it. You don't have to like Mario Galaxy more than Megaman. You're free to like whatever it is you like.

Gamespot completely sucks, they killed god of wars best handheld score, by giving it an 8.5, the lowest score on the metacritic chart.

I hope they burn in hell.

ummm i dont. I dont let them tell me how fun a game is. I am my own person. I say forget about them.

I really look at a lot of game reviews, not just one a lot of reviews to make sure,
I look a lot into game reviews to check if the game is worth my money, but if I had experienced with the game, like played it at a friends house then I dont look at reviews

I don't reley on them but I do find them useful. They have a minor influence I would say.

I usually just head to metacritic and read all the review summaries.
Then I would read the highest and lowest reviews to get a good grasp at the best case and worst case scenerios.

Best way to go.

I do trust reviewers (ok, that's my job), but specific ones.

And overally, I don't trust american reviews. Too many of them gives insane scores, forgetting what "average" means.
