What you know may be incorrect.  I asked if GTA5 were exclusive to Nintendo, would it have altered which console you purchased.  Also I was hoping for individual answers so that we, together, can get a "mass" idea of how this once game could have large ramifications when consumers purchase gaming hardware.  However, I do appreciate your endeavor to give us your summation of the situation.  

 


Ah ok! Well, then I would buy a Wii U for GTA V. One of the best games I played so far and a great first game for a console. I guess +20M people (I mean this seriously) would buy a Wii U for GTA V. There was such a big hype everywhere when the first trailer announced. The Wii U would have been be the main topic in the gaming industrie.

Well, timed exclusive could do it too, if you gave Nintendo platforms one Q4 with one of those games as an exclusive.

Actually now that i say that, it makes the third party conundrum seem more solvable.


Doing something like this would help only in the short term.  But to have a long term effect, Nintendo would have to have the horsepower so it shows they are competing again.

So let's say Nintendo wants to make a comeback with the big 3rd party/mature crowd.  Horsepower alone may not be enough, but if they buy a major exclusive (even if its like the Resi. 4 deal) it would put Nintendo back in the game as a serious competitor.

Yes, of course it would have sky-rocketed the sales. Even as a multiplat it would have reached at least a million. I don't know the reason why they didn't make it for the U. Lack of interest, no help from Nintendo, T2 didn't want its brand related to de "kiddie" company...?

Nintendo fucked up on the Wii U hugely. I love it but it doesn't appear to less "hardcore" gamers.

I see I am not represented in the poll, so I'll leave it here that I already own a Wii U and would not buy the game if it came to the console. Exclusive or not.

No, but what's point? Monster Hunter was Sony exclusive, then Nintendo took it. It died? Nope. Megaman was Nintendo exclusive, then Sony took it. It died? Yes lol but only because of Capcom, not Sony. And we have many others.

So again: why would be suicide?

I would have purchased the wiiu furst, because it came out first, then the ps4, then the x1 after they dropped the price. It wouldn't have changed anything, because I hate gta so much, that it may have kept me from buying a wiiu (kidding)... but seriously, gta has no affect on me, because I do in fact, hate it. The entire series.
