What people are ignoring it seems is that the article makes it clear that this is about a rotten *minority* composed of small to midrange sites that need traffic. But nope, there will be people who will take the "evidence" from this article and use it whenever a reviewer hurts their feelings. Wonderful.

You are burrying your head in the sand and pretending the situation is all paranoia except for "Isolated cases"

If you think major sites don't stoop to such tactics to remain relevant, you're being way too nieve.

Even if it was not happening, what credibility has one guy/girl on something that might be viewed diferently by millions. Unless I identify 100% with one reviewer what ever they feel on a game wont be the same I feel on it, for better or worse. A review should be done by a group of at least 3 people with diferent taste in games so games get more fair scores then someone who loves COD reviewing the next COD, or polygon who hates nintendo reviewing anithing made by nintendo.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

I'm not saying it never happens.  Not saying it doesn't occasionally happen at big sites.  Polygon used to be big, look what they have been doing for a while.  But my point isn't that.  My point is that there are a LOT of people who say this every effing time a game that they are excited for gets a score of seven or lower.  And I'm here to tell you that most of the time, the claims are BS.  Not all the time.  But most of the time.  Critics aren't perfect and there are other flaws in the system, so the score won't always align with what a particular person wants.

I kinda imagined this, even though many people would've labeled me as insane just for thinking that reviewers lowered their scores for a game just to have more hits. I'm sure The Order has its defects, but the dishonesty from the reviewers is really hurting the game, detracting people that would've still liked the game despite its shortcomings. I dare to say that the overall reviewers' reputation is now on the line. They are wrongly skewing the perception of games, and obviously developers aren't going to take that kindly.

its an anti-sony conspiracy... the illuminaty reptiloid zionists are behind it...

HUSH! Don't spoil the surprise! D:

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I can only say that a 20/100 to a game extremely polished like The Order: 1886 can't be anything else than a clickbait for ads.

And yes, I clicked on that review myself, but I use the ad blocker so they have got no f.ing money from me

Yeah, I agree.   What about Quarter to Three who gave Halo4 a 20/100, or  Adam Rosenberg from Digital Trends a 20/100 to The Order 1886.

http://www.quartertothree.com/fp/2012/11/04/halo-4-is-half-the-game-it-should-be/

http://www.digitaltrends.com/game-reviews/the-order-1886-review/

Both Games might not be the most innovative, or have some problems, etc, but a 20/100 ??  Come on, I can't take these people seriously.

No surprises here. Such sites should not be included in Metacritic though; particularly if there's evidence.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

whats the credibility of this?

There's not enough aluminum paper to make a good tinfoil hat to protect us from them.

What I'm curious to know is how the developers and journalists will react to this.

they will not react at all. they just dont care... EA could be caught shipping bags full of money to ign and nobody would care in the industrie.  the big ones are all doing it, and some of the indies just sleeps with the media for better reviews.
