Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Does Zelda U Have a Chance At 5Mil+ Lifetime WW? (Or Close To It)

Skyward Sword bombed on a much, much larger install base. 3 Million LTD is what i predict.

Numbers taken in a vacuum without consideration for contributing factors are not an accurate means of guaging present or future potential for success.  Skyward Sword launched after the announcement of the Wii U during the Wii's weakest point in term's of image and appeal and, like most Nintendo games in that period, had next to no marketing of any kind.  And Skyward Sword took an unusual direction for combat and world structure while this Zelda is taking a more mainstream approach that is more in line with the traditional Zelda setup and also more potential to appeal to people outside the franchise.

Oh and that "bomb" with all those hampering issues sold 3.88mil.  So yeah.

I say even 7 Mio

Also, Skyward Sword required an additional peripheral. Much like Majora's Mask.

I think it will sell about 3 million LTD.

The cartoon style (again) won't help sales and Japan don't give two sh*ts about new Zelda games anymore. That and the Wii U's tiny userbase.

Wii Sports Resort sold 33 million copies and it required the same add-on.

Maybe. If MK8 and Smash are selling more than people originally expected, then the same can definitely happen to Zelda!

Looking at the sales of any other Zelda game related to install base, no. Hell no. 25% attach rates are usually only something for either massively bundled games or Mario games.

Yes. I'm predicting at least 6m lifetime.

And Wii Sports sold over 80 million. I wonder what made Wii Sports Resort sell 50 million copies less.

Is this a joke thread?, No way is it going to sell 5 million
