Would you back Playstation Crowdfunding?

Yes 32 54.24%

No 21 35.59%

Maybe, So 6 10.17%

Total:59

Now if they did something like the Square-Enix Collective to gauge interest in various pitches, and then Santa Monica pitched in to help with the development of those that got funded... I could be down for that.

Nope. $60 bucks for a game is enough crowd funding for me.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

It would set a pretty dangerous precedent to tell the larger game publishers that we're willing to fund their games for them. We already fork over enough cash for games and DLC as it is.

I don't see this in a good light. If we are funding those games will developer worry about making the game good enough to get a lot of sales?
Unless they are able ti keep track of who funded those games and get something in return when the game comes out.

i would never crowdfunding anything. it's not my job to invest in business to (maybe) get a product i want. it's up to business to make a product worth buying. i barely pre-order games unless the previews are very enticing,.. why would i pre-order before the concept is even half baked...

This. To the OP.  Yea, sure I'll indorse crowd funding projects as long as I ain't funding it.

No. But that's nothing against Sony or PS, I just don't do crowd funding. I think it is fundamentally flawed.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

No, never. They are a multibillion company, and if they don't feel like investing a few of their dollars into a game, I'm not risking the little money that I have on a game that might potentially suck or never even come out.
I am in the market of buying completed games, not in making interest-free loans to multinational corporations.

So is Valve, and Greenlight works just fine....so, in the end, if Sony puts together a system like Greenlight that gives any and all developers a platform to raise money for their projects, I assume it will be just as successful a model.

Hell yess. Every company should do this!
