Forums - Gaming Discussion - EA thinks EA access isn't good value to its costumers

Looking after the fact that after several months of the debut on X1 it still wasn't offered on Origin or other PC/MAC I can only think they think they think it isn't valuable to their costumer.

Or it is quite possible MS had to pay to have it exclusively and Sony didn't cover the offer. Why else would EA block access on their own service?

If EA and Sony think it isn't enough value maybe they are right. On PS+ for 50 you get 36 games a year and usually 25% extra discount on several games. On PC with steam you can buy a plethora of games for 50 and big discounts while at unbeatable subscription free price. While you only get 8 games and 10% discount so the only place it could more or less compete and complement is where they gone.

What is your opinion on why it is available on X1 and not even on Origin? Or is Sony guilty on Origin lacking it?

I request the OP to add this information in the post to give fellow VGC members a clear picture about EA access.
We all are aware about EA access and for those who are not it is a monthly or yearly subscription (the way you purchase it) which gives access to certain number of EA titles. Ea has promised to add more titles to EA access with time and not removing the older ones creating a huge library of games available under one subscription.

Here is the list of the games.
NBA Live 15 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Live_15 Available on PC No
Ea Sports UFC - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EA_Sports_UFC Available on PC No
Battlefield 4 - Available on PC Yes
Madden NFL 25 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madden_NFL_25 Available on PC No
NFS Rivals - Available on PC Yes
Peggle 2 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peggle_2 Available on PC No
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare - Available on PC Yes
FIFA 14 - Available on PC Yes

Out of 8 games available in EA access 4 are not available on PC that simply justifies why Ea access is not available on PC. And why is not origin available on Xbox One and PS4 at times deals at origin are killer and what about free games they provide and game time functionality they provide in Origin where you get an option to play game for specific time 24-48hours. Basically EA has two different services for consoles and PCs. It is only available on Xbox One because Sony decided not to release it on PS4 not because EA wanted and for someone who play's EA games EA access has immense value I mean buy yearly subscription to ea access and you can enjoy all these games at such a lower price.

Because EA Access is 8th gen exclusive. Origin has 7th gen games included.

Does anybody actually use Origin though?

Anyone who owns a PC and likes good games.

Silly me, and here I though PC didn't had generations.

And what prevents then from offering only games made after 2013 there or making EA access not limited by gen? X1 get crossgen and old remakes.

Where have EA said they could offer the service only in platforms that run only 8th gen games? And it's their service they can change if they want. And I didn't ask why they don't offer it on x360 (probably because it is being discontinued, although the big fanbase could make it worth even if they only have it for 2 years). So since it's restricted to 8th gen as you say they will dump it when gen 9 comes? This is silly.

Guess I have bad taste then. Although I only have notebook, am I forgiven?

Yes millions of people do.

I do, I've so far acquired 4 or 5 free games from them. Never bought anything.

But the arguement is a good one, why isn't this service on PC?

Hmm, pie.

Its not a matter of where it can run. If they put it on Origin with only games from holiday 2013 people would bitch constantly. That doesn't happen on onsole because the software is limited to those 8th gen games. Not the near 500 on Origin.

What was your point in asking for an opinion if you were going to belittle the opinions that are different from yours?

Yes, you are forgiven because I said PC and not portable calculator.

That is because I understood you were saying EA gave this reason. If it's your reasoning I respect it although finding it odd. But what would prevent them from giving older games? Besides people complaining it's too old?
