I was surprised that the touch screen doesn't even work for Smash 4...

were you? I was pretty sure they werent going to do anything for it. What were you expecting? IMHO i dont think we are going to see anything really use the gamepad till Zelda U if that

Wow. People need to get it out of their heads that this $200 is a magical price point. It has been historically, and it still seems to be that way for hand helds, beyond that the PS4 has shown that people are willing to pay far more than $200 for a console. Heck, even the 360 and PS3 have shown that.

Unfortunatly that doesnt seem to be the case with Ninty consoles. At least past 250

I was expecting that you could use the touch screen in the menu, but you can't even do that...

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

No

It's great for map in games like Zelda, darksiders or  XBX

It is used  well  in games like Nintendo land, W101, zombi u, ssb  (stage builder), pikmin 3 (remote + pad is great), kirby,  and mario party (bowser mode ), mario maker, splatoon also seem  to be using  it well. I think it adds to all these games.

Not every game needs it but even then it's still usefull for off screen play/youtube etc..., miiverse and web browsing . I also use it as a tv remote

NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, WiiU, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS, Mega Drive, Game Gear, PS1, PS2, PSP, XBOX 360, Atari Lynx

if it was optional, i would buy it.
i like it, but i didnt need to be mandatory.

I find it completely unnecessary, I actually think that w101 would have benefited from a conventional controllor. I never used the draw mechanic, and i had alot of difficulty getting the camera mechanic to work with the split pov parts. Kirby and the rainbow curse was the absolute worst use of the gamepad. Why would i ever buy a console game that i have to play like a handheld? Drop the pad, cut the price.

I use the Pro Controller for any game that will let me, so I'd be fine without it. The only times I've really enjoyed the GamePad so far were for Nintendo Land and Wii Party U. And it's handy for having to fill in information on the eShop or other Apps. It's looking like Xenoblade Chronicles X and Zelda Wii U will make better use of it though, so hopefully those can change my mind about it.

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

The tablet is the only thing that stops me from buying one and I'm not alone.

I love the offscreen play for virtual console games and I have about 20 of those so I love it. Plus, the best local multplayer party game ever made(Nintendo Land) would not be playable.

The system won't work without the gamepad. If you are interested in the system buy it, if not then don't. These excuses just irk the hell out of me. It's by far the cheapest price point, is bundled with great games even at that price, has a superb game library behind it and is backwards compatible.

Ignorance is a huge factor when it comes to the Wii U sales. Almost everwhere you go, at least in my area of a city of a million people and it's surrounding towns, nobody knows shit about the Wii U. Futureshop, Bestbuy, Walmart, Gamestop, The Source, Target is hardly worth mentioning as it's pulling out of Canada but at all the targets in Canada I have been to (only 3) there wasn't even people that seemed to be assigned to a direct department. All of those people have known almost nothing about the Wii U. The only place I have been that a person knew much about it was at Toys-R-US, he doesn't have one he just like to keep up with all the information on all the consoles. This is not experience from every store of every kind in the entire city, however I do shop at a few of the busiest ones within and just outside of the city.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
