Forums - Gaming Discussion - EA Access Grants Members To BFH Five Days Early, Fans Flip Out Over EA XB Deal

Not everyone is going to be a fan of Battlefield Hardline when it releases. But if you go back and look at the latest trailers for the game, the response has been fairly positive. That was not the case however when EA’s latest trailer went live. The trailer is a promotion for EA Access which is currently only available on Xbox One. EAA is going to allow members to play BFH up to 5 days early for 10 hours before the game hits store shelves. As of this posting, the Battlefield Hardline EA Access trailer has over 2.5k dislikes and pages of negative reactions.

Many of the fans have lashed out claiming that EA has placed money above fans, and believing Microsoft is using their war chest to keep early access off of PS4. These are just a small portion of the reactions from the first page.

Getting early access is a business practice that certainly isn’t new. And EA Access on Xbox has been around for awhile. So the reactions from this game compared to others which have received the same treatment is a little surprising. It could possibly be because this is such a heavily focused multiplayer game, and no one wants to get a late start.

But what is even more surprising perhaps is who is taking the brunt of the blame. EA & Microsoft.

If you recall, it was in fact Sony who turned down EA Access. A Sony Spokesman told Gamespot: “We evaluated the EA Access subscription offering and decided that it does not bring the kind of value PlayStation customers have come to expect.” “We don’t think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value to the PlayStation gamer.”

EA Access is currently $30 a year or $5 per month. That comes with over $200 worth of free games, a 10% discount, and early access to games. While it certainly won’t be for everyone, there is obviously a large crowd who is enjoying the optional service and do feel it’s a good value. And it would appear that there is also a portion of the Playstation base who also sees potential value. So is it time for Sony to re-evaluate the value of EA Access for their customer base?

This still doesn’t answer the question as to why PC fans still don’t yet have the option for EA Access. In the interest of gamer’s everywhere, the best situation would be if EA Access was an option for everyone.

Lol.

Don't these people realize that EA Access is just not good enough value for them?

Toby got it right: EA fans have no dignity and no self-respect.

Self respect is for people without enough disposable income.

Big deal. I still get to play it when I should be able to. It's only 10 hours of playtime and it's not on a console that affects us. It's not like Microsoft paid for this. The people who get early 10 hours access are actually paying for that. Something that I and most others wouldn't do even if we had the chance.

Yeah, I played in the beta, Battlefield Hardline is a high budget attempt at copying Payday, and it fails on most levels.

This

Blame Sony for not wanting their userbase to have an option.

Shouldn't the title be: "BFH delayed for everyone but EA Access members".

how is it MS or EA fault as its sony who said no to EA access. The blame is entirely on sony and no one else. If sony said yes to EA access then sony gamers would have the same access. There are some really stupid people out there

Are people seriously flipping out over a difference of 5 days?

@vivisted and @rolstoppable -- isn't the blame on sony for rejecting the offer to have EA access? Both sony adn MS were given the same offer but its MS who said yes to it hence why xbox gamers have the game early.
