I wonder if 1.5 and 2.5 come to Wii U, is it possible that 3 could come as well? Squeenix said a while back that they couldn't just because the Wii U doesn't support DirectX 11. But neither does the PS4 (it's a Microsoft technology). They haven't commented on it since then, so who knows what has been going on behind closed doors?

Square enix never said that, it was just made up clickbait BS. Go ahead and check it. Besides, Wii U does have open gl for DX 11, just like ps4.

We know from Black Forest games that Wii U supports "some PC-like dx10/dx11-like systems like geometry shaders" though obviously it won't be as extensive a featureset as on PS4.

That said, devs have ported plenty of PS4/Xbone games to the DX9-equivalent PS3 and 360, so Wii U should be well within reach.

I'd be very, very surprised if it was FF15 though.

Well rereading the news about the interview he did mention it is an "AAA next-gen title", so we can take the KH remixes out of this... unless a PS4 version is also being made(which wouldn't be surprising) and to not cause a uproar, a Wii U version was outsourced to Tantalus.

It is still the only thing I can think that is not M rated, from a top-notch publisher(sure, the majority of 3rd parties publish their own games, but SE also has a reputation for being a publisher, taking jobs like publishing CoD in Japan), not "hardcore", and that could release this year.

And if it is an already announced or release game, I guess we can expect the announcement in the most surely to be March Direct.

COMG guide to points: 1 point = Raging. 2 points = Beasting. 3 points = Tearing it up. 4 points = Berzerk. 7 points = Rampage. 12 points = Burst. 15 points = god mode. 20+ points = DIVIDING BY ZERO!!! 40+ points = Youkai (originally Pokemon).

-1 = Negabeasting. -5= NegaRampage. -10 = NegaBurst

I remember reading an interview with Nomura saying that his vision for KHIII might be even too ambitious for PS4/XB1, I really doubt they're porting that one, not only that but KHIII is still somewhat early in development, I doubt Square will let a separate team do a port with the state of the game as it is.

I really doubt its Kingdom Hearts of Final Fantasy or anything Square related.

Why wouldn't it be as extensive as ps4? it's the same open gl.

Hmmm, I wonder which Wii U game is going multiplat? Wonderful 101 or Bayo 2 maybe? I personally wish it was Fatal Frame with a western release, but that seems doubtful.

All of those are Nintendo funded and published games, none of that has a chance of happening.

PS4 has a more advanced GPU though.

It has more horsepower but the tools (like shaders and open gl) are the same.

Doesn't necessarily mean that it will have good performance scaling with those tools ...

It's not going to be any of those as Nintendo owns the wonderful 101 IP, won't allow bayo 2, and co-owns fatal frame.

Heavily modified zombi U would be my guess but I think it would get absolutely lost on the HD twins and it loses some appeal without the gamepad.

I think the "next-gen" in the job listing doesn't necessarily mean that it's based on a PS4/X1 games, it could simply mean that it's on a 8th gen platform.

A Portal game on Wii U could be great with reworked puzzles for dual-screen play (1 player) or local coop on both screens.

The Puzzle Maker is simple enough to work on the GamePad.

And they also searched for people with Wii experience, Wii Remote + Nunchuk controls for one player in coop would be nice, too.

Gabe Newell said some positive things about the Wii U a few years ago and he likes Nintendo games.
