If your favorite game is topped (in quality) by a new game, on a console that isn't your console of choice (or your console of choice doesn't matter), would you admit it? My favorite game was Super Mario Sunshine, but then I played The Last of Us, and now that's my favorite game.

Absolutely. I hope a new game outdoes my favourite (Majora's Mask). Xenoblade came close, so maybe XCX will.

It's happened before, so yeah. Used to be Crash Twinsanity, then it was Tomb Raider (2013), then The Last of Us, and now it's Wind Waker.

I no longer have a favorite game. I just keep switching around what my top game is, focusing too much on things that I do not like about games, and it made me not care anymore about what my #1 game is. The game I´ve liked the most for the longest time is Skyward Sword. But that changed in 2013 with Pikmin 3, then in 2014 with Pokemon, later that year with Wind Waker HD, and it goes on and on and on... So to answer your question: Of course!

My number 1 game, Xenoblade Chronicles, got topped by Dark Souls. I strongly recommend both games BTW.

Of course why not. My favorite game used to be Crash Team Racing, then I played Final Fantasy X and then I played Persona 4 Golden. 

I think my favorite game is still probably MGS, Bioshock almost took it out though. But if something came along and dethroned it, then sure, why not. Of course, console doesn't matter.

I openly admit loving some games that ""most people"" tend to dislike, and when something better - in my eyes - comes, I also admit it as well. I don't see the problem.

For example, my favourite Metal Gear Solid game is 2. But I gotta say, The Phantom Pain is shaping up to be awesome, and even with my strong adversion to Big Boss, that game has a chance of kicking MGS2 and being crowned. If it happens, I would openly state so.
