I have always thought Sony missed the boat with PlayStation. PlayStation was the smartbox, and PSP was the smartphone way before any of these devices ever came out. The problem like has been said, is they always stop just short of letting it reach full potential.
In the case of home PlayStation models, they should have had way better support for non gaming apps for year, but they never have really pushed the platform. Having a great Web browser, flash, PDF support, an office like suite of software, they could have went toe to toe with apple, google, and microsoft. In this case the userbase would only be bigger, their hardware more influential, and software support would have been much better all around. I don't know if they held thibgs back to not hurt the Vaio brand, or just did not see the oppertunity, but they missed the market by a mile. I think PS4 is a saving grace that could put them in contention if played right, but only time will tell.
On the portable PlayStation front they had the PSP which people screamed to make into a smartphone years before iPhone or Android. Again they missed the boat. I think this is hugly due to the mobile partenership they had, but it hurt them badly. If they had stuck back then apple and google would be no where near what they are today.
Hopefully with Kaz at the helm PlayStation can turn into what it always should have been. Behind a PlayStation Home console, and a PlayStation Phone, Sony would have their own OS, and their own digital store which would pull in billions if not trillions in revenue. With the profits from that they would have all knids of room to play with TV, tablets, and whatever else, and all of it should be built on the Sony ecosystems which would feed right back into the company.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.
