The Wii and Wii U are totally different systems. The Wii was mostly bought for casuals who just wanted a bowling simulator and maybe Mario Kart Wii, of course the PS3 sold more software. On the other hand, the Wii U has a more dedicated fanbase with, what i have already said, a much more consistent attach rate. But i was getting ahead of myself saying it will definitely sell more sofware. I think it will be the PS4's more games vs the Wii U's attach rate.

It'll probably be PS4, but just wait till Animal Crossing U hits. Japan will go crazy.

PS3 first 52 weeks in Japan= 1.2M, PS4 first 44 weeks in japan = 1M.

And more games are announced or coning to the PS4 in its first 2 years in jaona than made it in the first 4 years for the PS3. Oh, and the PS4 is cheaper too. I don't know if it will beat the PS3 over there, just saying you can't be that certain.

To OP, once MGS5 and FF15 releases on the PS4, that will be that.

PS4 will probably sell double what the Wii U does. The Wii U weekly sales are terrible even after it got all its system sellers.

Those predicting 10M are much closer to the reality than the one predicting 5M, at worst, PS4 will only reach 8M if the génération is shorter, but there is absolutely no reason that it doesnt reach 10m if its as long as last gen, especially since PS4 has more big games coming that PS3 didnt have ( Persona 5, a true ambitous FF, a KH, and a DQ )

Wii U will sell more lifetime. Not only it's still way ahead in aligned launches, it has the library to keep it that way.

PS4's weekly sales aren't that much better in Japan. 

Wii U Japanese sales in 2013 (before biggest Japanese sellers.) - 946,047

PS4 Japanese sales in 2014 (with launch to make up for first two missing months versus Wii U.) - 992,112

There's ALL the reasons why it won't get anywhere close to 10m. It would take a huge change for that.
