Forums - Gaming Discussion - Batman: Arkham Knight - War on Gotham Trailer(Updated) -The trailer contains codes for deciphering-

Here's the link.

Edit: Apparently the trailer isn't just for show, but within the trailer are codes for fans to decipher. Saw this treat at VG24/7 which they got from Reddit and so on and so forth.

Other sites for this info: Gameinformer  WBGames Forum(I'm thinking this is the origin of this info)  NeoGAF

The Arkham Knight site where you put the codes you get from the trailer.

The thread from Reddit can be seen below.

As some of you noticed, hidden in the "Gotham Will be Mine" trailer that dropped today, there were some codes in a few frames of the video.

  • One located at approximately 0:25 in the video, and reads "pPL2a3Mn Ppi3mAMpyL2"
  • And another at the end, at approximately 1:47, that reads "c Rcn3n3 N2Jn3tjHn2"

Now here's where the plot thickens. On the official Batman Arkham Knight website there are three different Person of Interest code input spots. Entering a random password will yield a message saying "Incorrect password. Please locate cipher." Entering the hidden codes found directly in the video will either get you "Incorrect password and field. Please decode cipher instructions and use elsewhere.", or "Incorrect password. Please decode cipher instructions.", depending on which slot it is entered in.

Gameinformer also posted this article to their site, and they've even reached out to Rocksteady for some information or clues. They're updating the article as news breaks.

I'm not very good at code-breaking, but I'm sure that if many of us get to it, we could access whatever is locked on the Arkham website. Any ideas?

UPDATE: It appears that the codes unlock various character bios. The only known one so far is for Poison Ivy, and it has some info and some new concept art of her redesign for the game.

Edit: An intense discussion going on here in the Arkham Knight forums.

Edit 2: Users "Wolfsbane53" and "Brash_Attack" on the Arkham Knight forums found a third code near Harley's legat 0:07 in the video. It's very hard to read.

Edit 3: Forum user "Man_Who_Laughs" points out that each code only contains letters from the words "Pamela Isley" and "Jonathan Crane" respectively.

Edit 4: Neogaf thread on the subject.

Edit 5: The code for the second Person of Interest password box is "botanical gardens", thanks to forums user "Kk16383". Using this, maybe we can crack the other codes?

good trailer but as much as i liked the first batman i hated the AC. open world games suck and the controls got too convoluted.

Looks sick. I need to get through the batman I got for free from ps plus before playing this

First game was the best of the new games so far. Batman for me seems to suit linearity. City was decent, but it lost something in the open world. Hopefully the Batmobile and a bigger, more varied city will change that.

Not sure I like how many villains Rocksteady crams into each game either. I'd much rather they focus on a couple instead. Arkham Knight, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, Penguin, Riddler, Scarecrow and Poison Ivy in one game means half will be wasted in small cameos.

3 months and a half. Can't wait!!!

Very cool. Have they showed who the main villain is or not yet?

Character models have improved and game looks fluid. Even though Asylum is my favorite, I could see Knight taking second place after what I've seen.

Meh.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

haven't you heard? Linear games always suck now!  It's been that way since like...5 days ago

OT:  This really didn't do much for me we knew everything they showed but I still have my CE preordered as I don't need any more hype at this point
