Forums - Gaming Discussion - Psycological Study explain why each system have lead sales in USA

Which console would be the better one?

Playstation 35 40 49.38%

Xbox generic number 7 8.64%

Nintendo random name 34 41.98%

Total:81

In a recent study it was finally discovered the real reason for each console leading USA in its generation.

And the reason is completely unexpected for many.

It is just the number accompaning the system.

In Generation 6 we had Playstation 2 > Xbox > Gamecube... it shows people thought "2" was better then the others because it was a greater number.

In Generation 7 we had Xbox 360 > Wii > PS3... again 360 > no number or just 3.

In Generation 8 we have PS4 > X1 > WiiU... again 4>1> letter.

So it isn't brand loyalty, price, games or anything else, customer is just simple minded enough to think bigger number equal better system.

Ah, of course.

Are you sure it isn't that people like the specs better?

I read somewhere that Microsoft did not name the Xbox 360 the Xbox 2 because it would look inferior to the PlayStation3. Take that however you will.

Ah, he got me.

The Xbox 360 never won the 7th generation. As for this psychology...lol

I find it funny you think the XBOX360 won the seventh gen.

Oh and you forgot about N64 and PS1. ;)
