In a recent study it was finally discovered the real reason for each console leading USA in its generation.
And the reason is completely unexpected for many.
It is just the number accompaning the system.
In Generation 6 we had Playstation 2 > Xbox > Gamecube... it shows people thought "2" was better then the others because it was a greater number.
In Generation 7 we had Xbox 360 > Wii > PS3... again 360 > no number or just 3.
In Generation 8 we have PS4 > X1 > WiiU... again 4>1> letter.
So it isn't brand loyalty, price, games or anything else, customer is just simple minded enough to think bigger number equal better system.
