Forums - PC Discussion - Report: DirectX 12 will allow multi-GPU between GeForce and Radeon

And I'm sure this will totally work fine, has no drawbacks and scales perfectly.

Some msi motherboards can allready do that

A Mainboard can do what an API can do? I am confused.

He's talking about the MSI cards that sported a Lucid Hydra chip that allowed to run cards from AMD and Nvidia at the same time. And the performance was horrendous.

OT: Ha! I'll believe it when I see it.

I never heard of it and can't imagine how this would work. Thanks for hinting me on what to Google now.

You're welcome

Yeah,I read those, thanks again. Such a hacky solution... If it wasn't dead by now, I would say “kill it with fire!“ now.

I have a question about DirectX12 in general: If a developer did not specifically make a game for DirectX12, then will you still see performance upgrades?

It's my understanding that you won't see any of the benefits of DX12 unless a developer specifically designs a game for DX12. Fortunately DX12's benefits look substantial enough that the adoption rate should be much faster than DX11. For instance CDProjekt said they'll explore adding DX12 support to Witcher 3 post-release, so once Windows 10 and DX12 launch, Witcher 3 should hopefully go from being a system melter to a game that most people can run on medium-high settings.

Alright, that's nice to hear!

Wow this could be a game changer. I mean this could be something incredible for gaming in the future.

Then they will add more layer to the API instead make it simpler, and there will be a lot more problem, even i found many games have problem running on dual graphic card setting.

What's next, dogs and cats living together?
