Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Most Wanted Features on Next Nintendo Console

- Specs on par with the competition
- Trophy system
- Accounts!! Allow for cross-buy with the handheld
- Use WiiMote+ and Pro Controller as the main controllers, leave the GamePad as an accessory for Off-TV play, apps and browsing
- Has to be at least as cheap as the cheapest competitor, preferably the cheapest. Maybe achieve this by going for only 64 GB of memory and telling people to add an external disc? Whatever makes you cheapest!
- either free online or a very, very attractive offer of games given every month. I love PS+ for all the discounts and games that I get so much, that I don't care that multi is blocked without it on PS4. I'm subscribing either way!

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Third Party games.

An Achievement/ Trophy system would be a huge selling point for me. Honestly I think that's been the biggest turnoff for me with the Wii-U.

0331 Happiness is a belt-fed weapon

No region-locking
A normal controller, modelled after either the Wii U Pro or GCN Controller
Some connectivity with the Wii U GamePad (being able to use it for Internet Browser, or even Backwards Compatibility

Proper harddrive
eShop-games linked to NNID not console, no more system-tranfering

Just try to make a proper console with a proper controller and enough horse power to hold its own against the PS4 (preferably surpass it since it will release at least 3 years later), maybe something like a GameCube 2 (relative to what the gamecube as at release, powerful yet simpe).

If you insist on wanting a Wii U gamepad type of thing, make it optionnal, thanks.

Keep in mind that I had every home console from Nintendo until the Wii U came along, and there is no way I am buying one.

1) Continuing support for amiibos, which are to be registered to the account (NNID) to unlock different advantages. So e.g. you can receive a VC-Game for free when having registered 5 amiibos or for 20 registered amiibos a digital retail-game for free and such things.

2) Trophies/Achievements in the way, that in every retail game you can get a maximum of e.g. 200 Points and in every eshop-game e.g. 100 Points. These points then can be converted into E-Shop-money. 100 Points got from achievements = 1 €. So you get a money reward for each trophy/achiemement you have collected. That would give you e.g. one free N64 game (at 10€ pricepoint) for having completed all achievements of 5 retail games.

3) compatibility with WiiMote+Nunchuck as well as WiiUPro-Controller and WiiU Gamepad. The WiiUPro-Controller should be the standard controller.

4) much better VC with better prices (they should invite you to try a game just by curiosity ... i would NEVER buy a unknown SNES game for 8€ just to try it out!) including a subscription service for the VC

5) Crossbuy (if they then are still having two systems)

6) Installing retail disc-based games to decrease the noise of the disc drive while playing

7) Demos for all 1st-Party-Games

8) Keep online-gaming free of charge

9) Additional gifts for people who are buying the games digital. Such things like buy Pikmin3 on E-Shop and get 30% discoung for W101 and different offers, which had been on WiiU-Eshop. Buy MK9 on E-Shop and get 2 VC-Games of your choice for free.

Thats it for the moment ;)
I know, it sounds like a lot of "Nintendo should give away a lot of free stuff to people". But when having bought 5 retail full price games for 200-250€ and having completely finished them (unlocked all achievements) getting 10€ back would be really cool ;) I think its not too expensive for Nintendo.
And Nintendo can really make some advertisement with that. "Instead of letting you pay to play online, we pay you for collecting amiibos and completing our amazing games!" or something like that would for sure bring quite some people to the system.

backwards compatibility

region-free

Virtual Console cross-buy

a more consistent and unified approach to control options
