Yes, my PC back in 2000 already had more. Thing is - nobody cares. You know exactly that we are talking about the big AAA titles here. Don't have COD or Battlefield on Steam OS? No GTA? No Assassins Creed?

These titles won't hit SteamOS like ever. Of course, if you don't care for these games anymore, go with SteamOS. Nobody will stop you doing it. But this won't make SteamOS a big success.

Exactly.  I'm always baffled by the we have more games argument.  The games console gamers care about are either on or coming to consoles and sometimes exclusively.

Oh you mean like Civ V, Europa Universalis series, Crusader Kings series, football manager, counter strike, dying light, Dota 2, borderlands 2 + pre sequal, the witcher, half life 1 + 2, xcom, total war series, Metro series, tropico series and over 1,000 other games most of which are not on consoles but are all available on Steam OS. I enjoy my consoles, but if we look at what steam os has that consoles don't and compare it to what any single console doesn't have that steam os has, there is no argument that steam OS is far superior to any single console.

And for the few games like COD, battlefield and GTA, there are comparable games on steamOS. And with the likes of garry's mod.... stating things like  saying "nobody cares" are just silly. People do care. Consoles have a place, but for how much longer? If the handful of so called AAA titles, which are riddled with bugs and rather than making a good game are just backed by massive amounts of cash, decide to make their handful of games on linux, then really consoles are just a cheaper option to play these games on.

I would also further add, that all of the above games you mentioned are already available on windows. One can play them on steam, and simply switch to running windows to do so.

Eh tropico,  dying light,  metro and counter strike are all on consoles.  And metro is the only one that interests me. You can name all those games yet none will be of my liking. All the mainstream games us console gamers like are on consoles.

One of the biggest reasons for success of windows is open software distribution and if ms decides to limit software distribution to windows store they are going to kill nearly so many applications millions I mean and I am sure it is not going to happen until and unless the CEO at MS goes crazy and becomes mad and decides to kill ms in every possible way.

Success of Windows was selling to as many OEMs as they could (not open software distribution Linux does the same and never went consumer mainstream)
Selling windows means more expensive hardware (Google is undercutting them) = eventually losing marketshare
Giving Windows away for free is a lost revenuestream
An App Store is a partial solution for lost revenue. = unhappy developers Valve moves to Linux
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unreal, Unity, CryEngine, maybe Frostbyte supporting linux = indicates that windows isn't winning marketshare.

Valve isn't alone on this:

I said one of the big reasons not the only reason and windows has the marketshare and is going to grow with Windows 10. Supporting any platform does not means the other is loosing share many engines support Wp as well which is only 3-4% worldwide share.

Why did you ask for peoples opinions in this forum, if you are going to shoot down any logical 2 sided debate? I am also a console gamer, but if a pc running steam OS, the price of a ps4 came along that played the handful of games that are on consoles(i.e there are only a handful of games on ps4 and xb1 that aren't on steam), and the thousands that aren't on consoles but that are on pc, I would not buy another console and would just buy that pc with the steam OS. Simple as that. As for "us console gamers" that includes me and I am saying that many of the mainstream games I like are on steam OS.  You can't really speak for all console gamers, many of which would drool over many of the games available on steam OS that can't run on a ps4.

It's fairly clear that you didn't create this forum to ask people for their opinion as you suggested. Instead you question people, while already having made up your mind, and now the people who answer you, seem to be at mercy of your conversion attempts. You seem to be fighting some strange steam os V console battle rather than discussing objectively? Very strange.

There is quite a good article, well documented and fair, on this topic on Ars Technica:

Lol its a debate.  If you can't handle the heat don't post in here.  Read my posts I've accepted a lot of new info from other posters in here as I've learned a lot I didn't know.  But the way you go on,  you'd swear I'm not allowed question you or reply back with a differing opinion.

That is completely untrue. I stated facts, such as games that are on steam OS, and you stated your opinion as facts, suchas that all worthwhile games are on consoles. I am objective  and stating that some people will prefer to stick with a console but their are many console gamers who will prefer steam OS and thast many console gamers can get most of their gaming needs on steam OS. You are saying no, that you speak for all console gamers and "All the mainstream games us console gamers like are on consoles.". Then you turn around and say that you're not allowed to question me. You never quyestioned me. You told me your opinion as fact, and then spoke for me as a console gamer.

I told you my opinion which I believe to be true. That mainstream games which console players look for are all on consoles. If we were talking mmo's or f2p that's a different story then. You seem to have a problem with that so you go on a tangent on how I feel nobody can question me.

Thanks for the link. I think gaming on linux has huge potential but drivers and middleware really needs to improve. I really hope OpenGL Next pulls this off as I've seen how the same apps running on the same hardware generally load faster and performs much better in Ubuntu than in Windows.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Trust me just look in some more of the PC threads here on VGC at his posts and you can see he clearly has an agenda against PC gaming, such as here http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=198870&page=5
 Here http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=198735&page=3

Just read his posts in them 2 threads and you will see and if you go to almost any other PC thread you will find him inside it stating his "so called Facts" .

May as well add this to the list, on my own thread 8 hours ago, a PC thread that was talking about Konami sales on PC and somehow he deliberately threw in Sony/PS4/PS3 into there with the downplay on PC vs the PS4, this was a reply at least 1 week and 3 days afterwards, I am definitely seeing an agenda.
