iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Games tend to mirror the real world with fantasy or scifi added into it. It's only natural that sex, nudity, and sexuality be added into games at some point especially since the majority of the people who play video games are adults.

Edit. this is more directed at NightDragon83 than you, mornelithe.

Just read your edit.

I will however say, even if games didn't mirror real world, and even if the majority of gamer's were kids, and the minority were adults, I still prefer to leave games design to designers.  I have a serious problem interfering in other peoples artistic endeavors.

Because they are GAMES. Why the hell do games need to incorporate sex in the first place?

Does anyone ever complain that there's too much violence and not enough sex in Clue, Risk and Battleship?

looks like some people are taking this the wrong way, I'm not talking about a porn scene (if that's the case, it should be with a reason) Bayonetta, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, etc. that kind of sexuality. If that's the developer's vision or course, and not just because. "Because they are GAMES. Why the hell do games need to incorporate sex in the first place?"  you can say the same about music, books and movies.

Well if that's what you are saying... It's own females fault that there's not enough sex in games (although not all)

http://www.negativeworld.org/feature/11720/female-gamers-speak-about-the-bayonetta-franchise-part-1-of-2#.VOvw1S4Ua70

Summary of the article: Some females get insulted over Bayonetta's over sexiness while most don't.

I saw lot of  feminists men judging bayonetta 2, so you could say that this is a "feminists thing" and not a "female thing"

I'm a woman and Bayonetta is one of my favorites action games ever!

Wasn't like the lead designer for Beyonnetta 2 a Girl?

Well OP topic is too general, if the question is more on smaller aspect  ( example ): " why Gay in Video games is bla bla2, or games with Topples female is bla bla, why sex  intercourse sex in video games is bla bla, " Then It will be easy for me to answer.

The answer is different from one to another, not all sex is bad it related on for whom the games sell for, and where the games sells for, and how much content, how is the sex content  inside the game. and also what kind of sex?

sexuality = not just intercourse, any game that has some kind of sexuality. From Bayonetta to GTA

agree with u, so what is the actual problem here ? if you are complaint why there are so many critics for game with sex (you name it) compare to violent games, that just so wrong, many recent games especially FPS (Call of Dutty , etc) and Sand box games (GTA, etc) has a lot of critics. and most of the critic is just a click bait attention, like CNN, CNB or attention from politician etc, or even from other competitor to downplay their brand.

Not bothered to be honest, though it can get embarrassing at times.

No I'm not trying to compare both situations, I'm just trying to say that when you say sex or sexuality in a video game, the reactions are stronger, for example, bayonetta is criticized for the sexuality and not so much for the violence. The thread is to know why some people are offended by that, people here on vgchartz, or why do you think other people are offended by sex or sexuality and not by violence. taboo? morals? etc. I'm not saying that I'm right or wrong, I want different perspectives.

Nope. No issues with it. After a while you'll have lived long enough to see everything but extreme violence (if you're blessed). I'd be more concerned about the violence than the sexuality.

Too bad the feminist scream louder than actual gamer girls (and out number them too). You have the feminist who will stop and no ends to complain, then you have regular females who can care less, then you have the small female gaming community who pay the price because gamer dudes think the feminist speak for the female gamers...

Some well endowed guy really need to take one for the gamer girls team and give these feminist sum good D... maybe then they'll shut up...

Because sex is not for children.

who says it needs to be for children, the games are rated you know. At least the US. Peronally I think violence is a lot more extreme then sex. However I digress
