Too bad The Order is " selling extremely well" , that there is no need for him to angry and disappointed with the reviewer Lol, actually many hater help this games selling well. Ooh the Irony

Tell us, how much did it sell so that extremely well is justified

maybe i should have put "will" instead of "is", looking at KNACK title when PS4 launched last year managed to get a higher sales then what most people predicted i am guessing it will sell extremely well with PS4 higher attachment rate, If they managed to get 1st rank in UK at least it will be top 20 or 10 in the rest of the world and will have better sales in lifetime sales.

Knack was a launch game and so the lack of options always leads to high sales.

I still wonder what you mean with "extremely" well - better than what? Or a specific number you believe it will reach?

Getting 1st place in UK is not that of an accomplishment (well, it is) if you put it in perspective. There isn't much that is competing with it and we don't have any specific number, only that is was above 25k. Performance will be more interesting to watch the coming weeks for this game and then we will see how extremely well it will be.

what he said is indeed pathetic but did he threaten to do such thing? or is he even in power to do such thing? such a clickbait title.

Add me if u want :)

If "well-made" is the best compliment you can give a game then a 6/10 is probably a fairly appropriate score. I don't think we should be handing out 7s to anyone who can make a game that functions reasonably well.

I'd go as far as saying if "well-made" is the best you can come up with you should probably feel lucky you even got a 6.

Go play the game before saying what score it deserves to get.

Lol, haters, haters everywhere!

Not hating on the game, I just find his choice of words funny. If he wanted to defend the game he should have brought up the game's positives instead of attacking the reviewers.

There are shills out there. There are fanatics with a tenuous grasp of the English language masquerading as journalists. This I won't deny.

But Rhymer's idea is not the answer. The better alternative is to fix the problems that haunt the medium, many of which, let's be honest, orginate with the undue influence of publishers on the media.

Another problem, and one that has popped up repeatedly in this industry, is the misdirected venom of myopic fans who browbeat the media only when their favorite systems and publishers face criticism. This is an enormous problem. Until consumers can stand up for what's right instead of defending their own, nothing will ever improve.

The media needs to change.

The attitudes of gamers needs to change.

I actually really like the question he asked.

Let the gaming media get it's ad revenue from somewhere else. Complementary media to what the main target audience of their sites and shows. Without actually having what they cover directly being advertised there. Movies, tv shows food drink but not the games themselves.

Something else though that really needs to change in the media is the click bait articles. They are sometimes slightly funny from irony at best but usually are disingenuous, spread misinformation and bring down the level of dialog.

As for gamers we need to stop repeating click bait articles. Treat other gamers and those in the industry with more respect and civility. Stop wishing for things we don't like to fail, and focus more on complaining about games that are broken and less about games that aren't to our taste. It's not a zero sum game. It's not always one game type or another.

Especial these forums with the order, I've never seen so many people who don't like the genre to begin with and don't own the systems seem so excited and post so much about how they don't like it and are glad it's reviewing poorly. The order isn't going to make or break cinematic games. It's success or failure won't get the studio making games for other systems.

I'm ranting sorry

The industrie needs to change too...

sure, the media is full of idiots  and we should use ign or kotaku, but thats not an excuse for bitching about bad reviews.

its not gamers, gamers are realy pissed of by the shady things that are going on, im sure you heared about #gamergate...

The industrie doesnt deserve more respect as long as they are doing things the way they do. why should i talk nice about someone if he makes his games for idiots? QTE are cancer, and there should be no higher score than 4/10 if the game says me when to press a button after the tutorial, im not an idiot.if i choose to play hard mode or new game+ i want a hard game and not just bulletsponges as enemys.

and dont sell me 7 hours game without replay value for 60$.  40$ is enough for what you produced...

we should disrespect the people in the industrie more, they are like dogs, if the CEO says jump, they ask how high...

we need a lot more people with a real artistic vision.

Actually, Gamer's are just as complicit in this as the media and developers.  They gave the media the power by refusing to do their own footwork, even after being fucked over time and time again.  It took the Gamergate debacle for them to pull back and say woah, hold on a minute.  Even then, gamers still seek ways to cut corners in due diligence.  Games that are broken, or suck, should flop.   Not so that the dev goes bankrupt, but as a means of quality assurance.

Now, I haven't played The Order, so I can't comment on it, however, many games that should've been ignored by gamer's, were bought up en-masse, making them profitable and thus ensuring continued displays of poor quality workmanship from devs/pubs.  The only problem with a unified front on these things is the simple fact that everyone's tastes are different.  So, even if a game does have problems, someone who really likes...let's just use Assassin's Creed, cannot resist the temptation to buy it, rather than wait a few weeks while things are ironed out, or a more clear picture of the product comes into focus (since it's clear we can't trust reviewers any further than we can throw them).

The only way we, as gamer's, can keep the media in check, is by hitting them where their chief concern lays.  That's profit.  Make one of these AAA titles tank (and I'm not just talking about a new IP like The Order...), and you'll probably see a shift in policy.  And if not, make another tank.  But, that won't happen, because as I said, resisting the urge to buy into an installment of an IP you already like, is nearly impossible for gamer's to pull off.

Devs, do have a unique ability to make the media fall in line also, no, this isn't about getting only favorable reviews, but more like bringing them back to reality about who they serve, which is gamer's.  They seem to be more interested in making themselves part of the story, and that's simply not reality.

If you're a website that scored The Order a 6/10, then yes, his remarks about not sending out review copies and not buying ad space could certainly be seen as threats. And whether he's in a position to do any of it is irrelevant. It's very much like when Adam Orth or whatever was saying shit on Twitter. Was he in a position to literally speak on behalf of Microsoft? No, but his tweets were still treated as official viewpoints of the company.

More important than threatening financial penalties is that a developer believes:

1. A score of 6/10 is terrible
2. Journalists should score the game as developers see fit or face consequences

There has been a lot of stupid shit spewed by developers so far this gen. By far this is the worst thus far imho.

nintendo youtube creators program don't look so bad rigth now, ritgh? hahahahahaha

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Gamers being angry is far from gamers acting in a way that doesn't mean they need to change. Threats harassment and cruelty aren't the ways to get change.

You throw around insults way to easily. You remind me of what needs to change in gamers. Not all games are going to be for you, and just because it's not for you doesn't mean it should score poorly. I myself don't like sports games. I don't think any of then would be better than a 3/10 for my enjoyment. So whatever scores they get don't matter, but I don't go telling everyone why they should be scored lower. I don't go wishing that they all do terrible so they stop making them and make other games. The rise and fall of guitar hero and rock band should teach people that isn't how it works.

However with the order I'm seeing gamers bashing a genre they don't like, the people who make it ands those that don't like it. You're not the only gamers, your tastes aren't all encompassing. It makes the community come across as really insecure when they go out of their way to say at every opportunity how much they dislike it and all the insults used.

The industry is changing but not in the way that all these naysayers hope. It's going mobile, it's going micro transaction, it's a new abominable pay as you go model I though we were free of post the age of arcades.
