I'm not sure what the hidden agenda was. The reviews stated QTE and I didn't find many. There's a difference between QTE and pressing triangle to advance the story. Graphics, story, and characters are top notch. The only negative I could find is the game is on the shorter side. The reason for this is the game is built from the ground up, brand new IP, and released 1 year into the console cycle. There's a lot that can be done, yes but quality takes time.

How does a 2/10 review get posted on Metacritc? I thought 2/10 was broken and unplayable. User scores are 10's and 0's. Metcritic is broken. Something need to be done. Review numbers are ruining gaming.

The Order 1886 is a single player masterpiece in my opinion. I haven't talked or met a single person who disliked it. Sales will show what a great game it is. I can't wait for the sequel.

9/10

I'm interested in hearing other people's opinion like mine that owned a 360 or Xbox One and a PS4.

you do realise that game developers get development kits long before a console is launched? How do you think you get launch titles? Building a game from the ground up is no excuse for having a short game. I believe the main problem is the pacing of the game which can be rectified in the sequel. Also qte's are rubbish unless done right. 2 out of ten is a harsh score but that's metacritic down to the ground it normally averages out with a few undeserved 10 out of 10s.

Finished the game last night and I have to agree with the OP. The reviews seem overly harsh and if anything this game is a solid 8-8.5!

The gun fights felt quite satisfying and at some points challenging when progressing through the latter half of the game. From my perspective alot of the reviews seem to exaggerate the lack of actual gameplay.Same thing goes for QTEs. I mean if having a button Flash on a the screen to open a door or observe a paper, etc is overdoing the QTE, then I guess that might be a point...

The one particular thing I was disappointed with was the encounters with the Lycans. I thought those scenarios could have been a bit more interesting as they basically just run at you in which you fire, then once down you run up and a QTE pops up and that is how you finish them. I hope for the next iteration in the series they spend a bit more time on developing how you encounter Lycans.

The story itself was done quite well and I enjoyed the plot twists that were presented. Same thing goes for graphics and environment which really draw you into the game and can be breathtaking at times.

Overall I would recommend the game to anyone with a PS4. Just make sure you play the game on hard because then at least you are looking at 8-9 hours.

" Rebellion Against Tyrants Is Obedience To God"

No one should let reviews OR sales numbers ruin a game for them. They don't mirror quality, and are nothing to get upset over.

Think of metascores as privileges, the chance to get a ballpark idea of how others enjoy a game. That's all reviews are for, and they aren't meant to be the basis of arguments either.

A Shenmue game wouldn't survive today's critics or gamers in this day and age.

It is full of cutscenes, QTE's and is a graphical show case. It has very little gameplay and is all about the sp, it has zero mp and replayability. Judging by what's being said by many reviewers and some gamers, Shenmue 3 shouldn't ever be made cuz it would be boring QTE filled, short lived, sp experience only to showcase the graphics.

I will say two things:

1) Giving this game a 2/10 is crazy ridiculous. Scores this low are reserved for broken, incomplete, or worthless games. You don't even need to play this game to see how these things are not true. In fact it is one of the few games to be released in the past year that isn't buggy.

2) Calling reviewers stupid for not agreeing with your opinion is hilariously immature. I will agree that any review below a 5/10 is silly, but anything above 4/10 is fair game whether they are being "Too Harsh" or not. Some people hate linear games, and this is probably the most linear game I have ever seen.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

From what I have seen, both user and critic reviews of this title have been decidedly average. Does that mean you can't enjoy it? No. I've enjoyed some wonderfully average games in my time.

But judging the quality of a title by how much it sells is a bit silly. I've noticed a bit of a trend on the PS4 and XB1 that suggest that a lot of gamers on those systems have a lot of money to waste and lap anything that's new. Which is great, it means more titles will release for those platforms because publishers feel safe releasing any old poo on them. Nintendo gamers are really finicky about their purchases and look what has happened to the Wii U because of it. The Order will sell well regardless of reviews, or quality. But the question is, will it deserve the sales it gets?

I'll probably pick it up once it's in the bargain bin. But I'm not buying a full price ticket for this title.

A guy's called Playstation_Prophet opinion says the order is a good game. Reviewers in the other hand say it's a bad game (well not bad but only worth renting for a weekend).

Guess who am i going to believe : )

If The Order sells 5 million, is it a success? What defines success for a game?

There are two kinds of success: Critical and Commercial. It will easily be a commercial success with those sales, but its critical reception was not a success in the least.
