I lent my Wii U to my brother a while ago. His kid needed something to play and I wanted to get her into Mario games. His kid loves it and it turned out that my brother has been playing it like its a drug. By the end he has played almost everything in my collection and was thoroughly impressed. He is talking about buying one himself and his kid loves Captain Toad. But he asked me something I have no answer to.

"Will there be any sports games on it?"

Its something I forgot about. After launch I think there hasn't been a Madden or NBA2k game. I might have to pick those up since they might be the last ones on Wii U. Do you think there will be another one in the future? I know that sometimes CoD skips Nintendo one year and comes back next year. I'm expecting a new CoD before the end of the Wii U life span. The funny thing is that if Wii U had these sports games and CoD my brother would be all over Wii U like its candy.

At the moment I think it will be a really tough for the eii U to get another sports game considering not even Fifa is releasing on the console.

I think if push comes to shove and people are really asking for sports games, Nintendo will probably take the dive and make one.

If that doesn't happen, the only hope if Fifa coming to Wii U instead of the Wii, but i think that's it.

Nintendo could make a Mario sports game and I'm pretty sure we'll see a few sports games on the eShop, so it's not a definite no

I think we will see more in a few years. However, Fifa 2013, Madden 2013, NBA 2k13, Mario & Sonic @ Sochi 2014 and Club Sports (I recommend these last two) are enough for now.

due to iterations of sports franchise if it is mostly just minimal features and roster updates. better to use the ones mentioned above. Hopefully the install base would increase and those annual sport franchise would come next year to Wii U. If Nintendo could struck a deal with Konami with its PES franchise too, maybe next year PES would be at Wii U. the technology is there but little bit different since it isn't x86 architecture which is a little bit hard compared to X1 and PS4.

See thats just it. I don't mind if those franchises skip a year or 2. I think that all of these franchises could benefit from taking a year or 2 off. I actually prefer this. Same with CoD. I'll enjoy the next one that comes to Wii U. Hopefully the Madden, Fifa, NBA, and the like do grace Wii U one more time.
