Bullshit.  Some of my favorite teams in football, basketball, and hockey have been defensive teams.  A great defensive play takes just as much work and skill as a great offensive play.  For people who actually watch and understand, defense is interesting.  For those who chat with their friends until they can go, "yay, someone scored, yay," it's a different story, I suppose, but I don't give a rat's ass about them.  

I call those soccer highlight fans or Youtube coaches. 

There's a reason that most prominent soccer coaches nowadays come from South of Europe.

Didnt know you could run in boxing with your body always facing the opponent. What I will never get is Sugar Ray Robinson, Prince Naseem and Muhammed Ali was praised for using their superior footwork defensively and rolling away punches on the ropes (rope a dope) yet with Floyd its called running and hugging.

If Mayweather would win by knock out from time to time , like the ones you mentioned, maybe you'd have a case. But he barely ever knocks his oppenent out. There's hardly any of his fights that have been remotely exciting because of his boring fighting style. Sure, it gets the job done, but don't try to say that's actual good boxing. All he does is connect weak jabs, hardly any quality ones at that, and expect the win by counts.

That's a condescending view. You can be an expert and still think that defensive playstyles are boring to watch. It's a matter of opinion and most people prefer offensive play. I do agree though that it does take a lot of skill and people who deny that don't know what they're talking about.
