I like the challenge 61 69.32%

i hate it... 27 30.68%

So recently ive seen some people asking for an easy or normal mode for Bloodborne, because they want to play the game but they dont want to deal with the difficulty, so i kind of feel the need to explain why this can NOT be:

REASON WHY IT CAN NOT BE:

The souls games are NOT about dying houndreds of times, they are about facing a CHALLENGE and overcoming said challenge and the sense of SATISFACTION that comes with it, you see a LOT of modern games nowadays are not challenging and there is no doubt in youre mind that you will be able to beat those games, with the souls games however its the complete opposite and thats whats great about them, thats the APPEAL  of this franchise and the reason why the fans (including me) love those games, if you were to add an easy and/or normal mode you would be killing the core aspect (the soul) of the game, because then there would be no challenge and therefore there would be no satisfaction on beating the game.

COMMON COUNTER-ARGUMENTS:

but you would be limiting youre audience if you exclude a normal or easy mode

- if you add a normal and/or easy mode you would kill the core concept of the game, and piss off the fans who spread the word for the past games, and help made this franchise into a succes, plus the majority of the sells for this games are from the real "hardcore" fans which can even be seen on amazon were the Collectors Edition is tracking ahead of the regular edition.

But i just want to play the game and have fun, i dont want to smash my head against the wall out of anger for dying over and over!

- im sorry to tell you but if you dont enjoy the challenge then this game is clearly not for you, there are tons of other games out there that could fill youre gaming needs.

I agree! Games have gotten significantly easier over the years and we need some games that would give us a challenge in normal difficulty instead of pussifying every game just so the newbies can handle it... A game like this is known to be hard so you should only play it if you are up for the challenge otherwise, there are tons of other games that might fit your needs.

Why limit options? Saying a game shouldn't be for someone when it is very easy to program less frequent and lower health enemies in a different completely optional mode is elitist and selfish. Those modes can be just as challenging for newer less skilled players and give the same satisfaction.

Since when do optional additions to a game take something away from it? And who declares what the core concept is of the game?
That's like forbidding anyone to an arts museum who does not have a university degree in fine arts.

You know what the real reason is why people don't want the game to be easy? Because they're afraid that their epeen will shrink as soon as someone not as awesome as them finishes the game.
An easy mode will not hurt the game, only the people who built up a reputation on beating it.

There is plenty of difficulty in games today. The challenge is there for anyone who seeks it.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Souls games are really not that hard to begin with..... Once you learn the formulas. I soloed Dark Souls 2 and died very few times

An easy mode would 100% ruin a Souls game. But I do think they should make a 100% new franchise with a similar formula that will cater to casuals. But like I said in another post Souls really is not that hard to begin with.

They should call the new franchise Sissy Souls

there should be a normal and easy mode. the normal mode is simply the same way it is. the easy mode should just be a bit easier for those who dont like the frustration in games for the sake of frustration.

Here's the affect on me of making the Souls games hard...

- I loved the concept and designs and gameplay so I bought the first one.
- Then because of the amount of times I kept dying and losing all my stuff it became more of an annoyance than fun from what I had initially thought about when purchasing the game.
- Then I lost interest in playing the game as it frustrates me and takes up way to much wasted time that I'd rather move on and play a game that I can actually enjoy and progress.
- Now i'll never buy another Souls games or of similar (ie Bloodborne)

The difficulty factor has lost my interest from enjoying the game. Not everybody has the luxury to enjoy it the way others do. I still love the concepts and designs of these games, but I just don't care anymore and I will never again pick up another one.

Yes, lets ruin the whole point of a franchise to bring in the casuals..... Because games that try to cater to casuals are always the best games. right? :)

I seriously do not understand this. I know me and my friends think Dark Souls 1 and 2 were easy.
