Forums - Sony Discussion - Wait... Tekken 7 will be also Playstation exclusive?

I see a lot of Japanese games only hitting one platform for this gen. This one, I would wait on more trustworthy sources before jumping to conclusions.

Maybe, Sony is in a position of power now it wouldn't take much to get exclusivity form one of their home devs.

Business wise it makes sense, sony helps with dev and or promotion. Much of the risk is negated for BN while they get boost for being "exclusive" and get to create a better Tekken due to no forced parity.

no it doesn't make sense business wise releasing to a smaller user base ever. Ever. And it's silly how people think Sony or even ms will throw money at ever publisher to "help with dev" whenever the word exclusive comes up. With games like these or with publishers in general, they would always consider where they stand to gain the most and if everything else is worth the investment.

Outside NA, all these devs know that the XB1 is dead, with exception to Europe, so these games will most likely release in NA and Europe for both the PS4 and XB1. but outside that, there is no point cause the game may very well be exclusive to the PS4. Take mgs5 or FF15, there is zero sense for them releasing on the XB1 in Japan cause by the time those games are out the XB1 wouldn't have broken 50k sales in that region. PS4 exclusive by default.

Sure it does, when the benefits out weight the cons.

Especialy if the were to have some strategy to try and become the clear choice for certain types of games, ones which exclusivity would cost to much as they are more niche then mainstream yet would make a differene in seperating the PS4 from its nearest competition.   Liek in figthing games, where they already got SF.  Woulndt hurt to be known as the defacto fighting game console.

I think it'll still being coming to the xbox one

that last tweet was golden.

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5

It will just look and perform better on PS4, as it is more powerful and lead platform. Just this.

He doesnt say its exclusive, the lead platform is PlayStation though. its coming to xbox one.

To be honest, i'm not sure it was announced to any console (it was announced to be using UE4 and arcade). This is basically a confirmation of PS4, but we dont know anything else.

With SFV beeing a PS4 exclusive one does have to wonder. The PS4 is going to be the fighter platform. X1 is a complete failure in Japan aswell, so its not surprising that they arent clear if its coming to it or not.

Last gen tekken 6 and tag 2 didnt really sale any kind of notable numbers in comparison to the west in japan. It just makes more sense for it to stay multiplatform namco doesnt seem to put its bifggest fighters on one platform these days. Tekken, soul calibur, dragonballz and naruto.

How?

This is one of the least performance hungry genres there is apart from 2D games. If this doesn't run 1080p60 with the same visual fidelity on both PS4 and X1 someone really fucked up big time.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

That would not make sense honestly. Sony will probably have all the advertisement for it which will be interesting. With exclusive content (quite possible) and SF staying exclusive for who knows how long, they are gonna rake in the fighting fanbase this gen...unless KI takes over everything.

They are also making one exclusive to Nintendo.

I dont think we can extrapolate any more than they are still choosing whats the best use of their resources.

We have to realise this isnt the 360 era anymore. X1 has slow sales in europe and isnt the leader in the US. It does make it a less desireble platform to put your games in when its audience crosses so much with the PS4 audience. Quite honestly, i dont think it would make a huge difference at the moment to go multi-plat or PS4 exclusive. But well, thats my analysis. I dont want to be bashing or anything. From a business point of view, unless it a game tailored to the US market, it doesnt make a huge ammount of sense to go multi-plat with it.

Don't forget this ;)
