Microsoft will put out all the stops for Halo 5. It'll be the biggest push for the Xbox One this year. Only way Gears gives a bigger boost will be with holiday association alone.

I would certainly be more excited about a gears game versus halo, but who knows... Judgement left a bad taste and it has a new developer so I doubt it would...

I think so just based off how GOW Judgement was received by gamers. I don't see too many people with good things to say about it.

It also seemed like people were in franchise fatigue of the series. That's why I don't see GOW 4 doing good

I agree with the OP. I think its possible that Gears can move more consoles, not more copies of the game. It will really depend if the new Gears is perceived to be any good before release. If Gears comes out in late 2016, it will be right at the point where the XB1 will hit the sweet spot for price(probably $200 black friday deals). That would create one hell of a bundle!

Gears is a high selling game without bundling. Its one of the few games that can sell 5m+ without bundling.

However, Halo is also one of those games plus it gets bundled and has a stronger community. Gears has a very strong community as well, but the multiplayer has a much higher learning curve which makes a lot of people give up quickly.

So now that Gears is a MIcrosoft owned ip, i can see it getting bundled more. So it may increase in sales (Maybe) but it wont outsell Halo 5.
