Ok, i know that Halo is the best KA for XBOX, but let's say that this time can (NOT will, but CAN) be different! Both game's will make a very good boost for XBO, of course, Halo5 will sell more than next Gears, but i think that XBO can have a better boost with Gears. Why i think so?

1) Halo 5 will sell more. That is true. but not so much as in the other time!

Halo usually sell double than Gears of War, (12m Halo and 6m Gears was usually on 360), but let's say that this time Halo 5 will sell some like a 50-60% more than Gears of War 4... is soon for predict, but i'm go with Halo 5 at 8,000,000, and Gears at 5,000,000!

2) I think that many Halo fans have already bought a XBO, because Halo 5 beta (so, Halo 5 hype), and the Halo MCC, but the Gears fans are still on 360... 

BONUS) I have already confirmed +1 number for XBO in Italy when Gears 4 will released. ineed, i will buy a XBO with Gears 4 Possible a bundle with the limited controller like this:

Conclusion: As is said, I DON'T PREDICT that next Gears will be the best sistem seller for XBO, but think that IS POSSIBLE .

Gears of War is for me much better than Halo. So yeah, I'd wish it could. I guess if MS makes some great bundling and advertising, they could, yeah. But Halo's still the main flagship here.

Man gears 4 is going to be a fucking festival. I think its going to be a better game, but sales wise its still slightly lower on the pole in comparison to halo.

FYI, as a huge Halo fan, I myself have all Halos for Xbox 360 and really didnt see the need to upgrade to Xbox One just for higher resolutions, or a temporary beta (I just played it over a friends when I could). What I am waiting for, is the inevitable custom Halo 5 Xbox One, with Halo 5 hopefully bundled with it.

I doubt it, there hasn't been a truly great Gears game in a while, so I'd expect the hype to be lower than the hype for Halo 5.

I'll probably end up picking up both though :P

I doubt it but it feels like expectations for a new GoW are really high.

Enjoyed playing Gears so much, and Halo was very boring to me. So, if I were in a market for a 2nd console, it would definitely be for Gears.
But I think I would be in a minority, Halo is a much bigger brand and a much more popular title.
