Forums - Movies & TV - Doesn't seem to be that many great movies for 2015

There are two, count 'em, TWO Pixar movies. And none of which are sequels, so nobody can bitch about that! That's always great.

But if you think about it, this year is one of the most insane years in recent cinema history, with both The Avengers 2 and Star Wars VII. That's like the two biggest franchises in entertainment right there.

With the massive overload of superhero movie these past few years, less and less interesting and unique movies have been releasing. Sure there's great movies like the Wolf of Wall Street,The Hobbit and Intersteller, but they are few and far between most of the cash grab superhero flicks.

I'm just excited for the new avengers movie and the new terminator movie. that's pretty much it. Nothing else has really got my attention. I usually look at all the upcoming movies on rottentomatoes.com.  I guess you got the other hunger games movie at the end of the year, but I'm not a fan of that. I don't know,it just seems like the weakest lineup of movies in a long time. Does anybody else feel the same way?

With Avengers 2 for the summer (first made $1.5 billion) and the new Star Wars and final Hunger games in November/December are you really surprised?

All 3 are guaranteed to make $900 million + world wide.

Wait forgot there's the new James Bond the last one also broke $1 billion

And Jurassic Park, Terminator, Mission Impossibe and Fast & Furious 7 hmm already looks like this year will gross higher than 2014.

Lots of big names. Just like last year. Few will turn out to be good.

I think the only guarantee is The Avengers. The last 2 Star Wars didn't do all that well and the last Hunger Games made $750M.

Star Wars episode 3 made $850 million and the part 2 of the last Twilight and Harry potter books made more than the part 1's so it's likely the HG will do it too.

I'm personally looking forward to Jurassic World, Tomorrowland, Unfriended (from a comedic perspective), Pitch Perfect 2 (The first one was surprisingly good), and The Hunger Games. Movies can be hit or miss for each year. Hopefully gaming will be a good occupier for you. If not, make this the year to go to the gym. :P

I thought they usually announce movies just a couple of months before release? I'm sure there is plenty more coming that we don't know about yet

God, there are tons of good movies releasing this year though.

I'm personally anticipating this year's:

-MI:5
-Episode VII
-Marvel Cinematic Universe
-Spectre
-F&F7
-2 goddamn Pixars
-Mockingjay. Still need to watch that part 1. Heard it was boring. :/
