Forums - Sony Discussion - The Order 1886 complete playthrough.(Updated) -The Order 1886 has replayability according to an interview-

For games that you buy, how long should that game's duration be? Depends on genre of course.

Minimum 8hrs+ 198 83.19%

Minimum 8hrs- 39 16.39%

Total:237

Why the fuck are people actually buying this shit(the report)? This is the only report of it being 5 hours long, all the other reports have been 9-12 hours. You also have sites like GameSpot (no surprise since they reported that The Witness was also 6 hours long when that was just the speed run), this is just getting sad.

The problem with this game its 40% cutscenes. I mean seriously, if you skipp them all then yeah its true the game is probably only 3 hours.
Bloodborne will be a better exclusive for ps4 i would preorder that if you guys are gonna being dissapointed by this game which i bet majority of you will. Preorder Bloodborne guys

I hope this doesn't become a trend. The last thing we want is people popularizing playthroughs of unreleased games.

As much as I want to believe it (as it feels like the game would actually be that long) I will have to reserve my judgement until it has released.

For me a game has to be minimum of 12 hours for a full price tag. Not including multiplayer or replayability.

I guess I will find out how long it will take me to finish the game starting Friday. I love the way the game looks, I love the story and the setting, and I am a big fan of third-person games.

As for the duration debate: I'd rather play a good 5-hour game than suffer through a crappy and boring 15-hour game.
Out of all criteria to judge a game on, duration is definitely the worst.

I always wonder why people use this argument.

Its like people that buy good, short games think the rest of us are exclusively purchasing shitty long games, instead of...good long games.

The point is that lengthening the game for the sake of doing so isn't always a good idea. Bravely Default comes to mind as it extends itself by a very unwelcome 15-20 hours.

That point I get, and agree with, its the inference that somehow there are two options alone - when clearly a good, long game is preferrable.

Also thanks for the tip, I have been eyeing off Bravely Default at my local store after it got its first price drop...might wait for another!

It will really depend on how you play the game. Playing it at hard difficulty without aim assist will provide a good challenge while also lengthening playing time. It also depends if you want to find all the collectables and try to plat on first playthrough. GAF members who have already received and game and played it ranged from 9 to 12 hours. Based on your personal criteria, you may be better off waiting until the price hits $40 or something.

Wow. Only $12 an hour. What a bargain.

I actually do this with some games that I don't quite understand the first playthrough, but I get your point.

I agree that's what I'm saying the same logic can work for games so yeah you get it
