I think the hate is more than justified.

When more and more people start seeing the ending that was posted, its going to get a lot worse.

I think it is blind hate and some fanboyism. This game is in the same boat with MGS4, when people complained at all its cutscenes, and installs. that didn't stop it from being an epic game.

I recommend the video with the final boss and ending scene to anyone who's not interested in the game. Hilarious.

And for this game we get like 2 threads a day?

People have vigorously defended the game, that's why there were so many threads about it. Haters would have lost interest if more people had taken a wait-and-see approach. Which they should have, considering that this is a new IP and initial demonstrations of the game were met with mixed impressions.

Seriously?  You must be joking.  Ever since the initial reveal, you have thread upon thread upon thread, of people gloating about the poor impressions of the initial demo (which were regurgitated every time a new person played the same demo).  Most of the 'defenders', were saying wait and see.

But I wanted to. I understand that without proof basically everyone can come here and say that he played it and knows everything etc xD

And it really took me about 8-9 hours to get through and I didn't have any breaks, I didn't die and I didn't run around and search like hell (which isn't even possible, the game is pretty linear). but I also can imagine that you can beat it in 5 1/2 hours but I think you really have to "rush" a bit for that. Besides that I think that 5 more hours of playtime would've been perfect for the game.

I watched some parts of the YT walkthrough after beating it and as I said: if I watched the YT stuff only I wouldn't have bought the game probably, because it really looks pretty boring.

But I can only repeat myself: technically this is one of the best AAA console games I've seen for a while. No GB day-one-patches, no bugs, glitches or technical issues.  The gunplay is pretty nice and the controls are smooth and even though it doesn't look like it the gameplay is really fun.

I didn't feel that any of the cutscenes destroyed the game's flow. There were even 2,3 moments where I thought I could move but actually it was a scene. I enjoyed it pretty much and I'm a gamer for about 25 years now, I've seen quite a lot.

And yeah, it's not the GOTY but it is a great game that sadly gets a bit more negative feedback than is actually "fair". At least that's my point of view.

True. The game bascially 'lost' the the moment they said that it's going to be a 3rd person shooter. I've seen many people rolling their eyes and "dooming" the game after that moment ^^

The ending of the order is like the beginning of Saints Row 4 when you're fighting with the boss of the first level. But The order is not a parody of those type of games, it's that type of games. Thankfully Bloodborne is right at the corner.

-5 hours long (and most of it are cutscenes)
-No coop

-QTEs up the ass
-"Cinematic expecience" bullshit
-Generic gameplay mechanics
-Dat QTE final boss

Feels so good being right about this shit game

I hear you brother, it was written on it all along!

The defenders were saying that there was no way that the gameplay would be simplistic and linear for the entire duration. They also said that the game wasn't going to be short, and despite it being becoming clearer with each passing month that The Order 1886 would have trouble to deliver, the defenders wouldn't budge an inch.

Take the thread you and I posted in yesterday, for example. The topic was that The Order 1886 would be over 10 hours long and despite playtimes of 10-12 hours coming in from people who explicitly said that they took their time, the thought that the average playtime would fall somewhere between 8-10 hours was ridiculed, to the point that the headline of the thread was changed accordingly. Today we get this thread, and what do VGC members who have already played through the game post as their playtimes? Nine hours, based on normal play; no rushing, no taking your time.

There's a group of people who has defended The Order 1886, no matter what. That's what haters could feed off and that's what haters will continue to feed off in the coming weeks. We'll still get reviews from gaming websites, and should the game bomb, expect ridicule for that too.

No, the defenders were saying we didn't know (It should also be noted, it's not quite logical to say all defenders or all those critical did this, or that), and couldn't derive a conclusion from a section of the game that's clearly a tutorial on gunplay.   Ergo, wait and see.  The hater's, simply poored on the hatred, which is hardly a 'wait and see' approach.  Furthermore, the vast majority of those commenters (as is typical in cases such as this), weren't even interested in the game to begin with, just wanted to shit all over something, likely because they weren't planning on owning the system in question.  A typical problem this day and age (For all sides, not just one or the other).

As far as thread titles changing in this here forum, I already addressed that, so when the mods can't even force a _real world_ thread, to be accurate, what they do with fantasy bullshit threads are of little to no concern to me.

So final boss fight is dissappointing, sucks to hear that
But hope the game is still great. I mean games like Bioshock had a horrible final boss fight and it was still a fantastic game.

You're 100% right about that and if this game has a good enough story that you can explore with fun collectibles like those audio diaries in Bioshock then it won't really matter if the game is 8 hours long or if the final boss is dissapointing. However, if the game truly is mostly cutscenes with little to learn/explore through, full of QTE and has a disappointing ending then there is room for concern.

I didn't watch the playthrough, just the final boss fight and ending cutscene so yeah...

Oh man, is the ending disappointing?(don't answer with a spoiler please XD) I hope not . . .

I don't know plot wise, but at least gameplay wise it does have a dissapointing final boss fight.

Don't worry about the game length. I received the game early and completed it by yesterday. Played non-stop 5-6 hours on two days, so overall it took me 10-12 hours for completion. I think it already speaks for the game that I played so many hours straight per day.
The Order: 1886 has so much to offer...really...it was such a joy playing it through. Oh man...and today, what did I do? Well, one day after playing through I already started my second playthrough to enjoy this beauty again and appreciate all those amazing details.

Oh, and did I say it looks absolutely incredible?! I can assure you that everything the developer has shown is nothing compared to what you will see in the game (and the stuff that the developer has shown is looking even more impressive in person). Friends and family members who took a look at it were blown away. It's a stunner! But you know, haters gonna hate, so don't be fooled.

So this game is about $10/hour which is way more expensive than watching a movie. Fortunately I can resell this game to get hopefully $50 back.
