Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Star Fox U motion controls are not required confirmed

Now I hope those motion controls won't be forced into Zelda U either. That part where Aonuma was aiming with the Gamepad... Damn did it feel forced and lame.

I don't like motion controls.

Thank God, just hope I can use the Pro controller too!

No motion doesn't mean no pad.

True, but honestly, it might as well. The pro controller has all the buttons the pad has and making the pad mandatory would just be something unnacesarily gimmicky...

...oh wait, it's Nintendo.

I'm now filled with determination.

There will be gamepad functionality, Iwata and Miyamoto has promised their investors both in January-14 and May-14!

Not even close to true. There's still things that can be functionally put on the gamepad that aren't gimmicks. The gamepad was amazing on WWHD, and it was completely none intrusive. Same with Deus Ex. Evolutionary concepts can be done. The issue was that motion controls aren't one of them.

I just wanna see some gameplay already, was expecting a direct at the beginning of the year to show it but there was no direct.

That's not even really a question. If the motion in WW was optional, then the ones in Zelda U, which works the same way, will definitely be optional.

Wasn't this confirmed ages ago?

It's not even confirmed now. The title is making a huge assumption.

But those things could very well still be optional, having a faster way to access the menu is nice and all, but not for another 60 bucks.
