I'm still sticking with my sub 100m prediction that I had since launch, with only VR having the potential to bring back enough casuals to beat it. I know I'm in the minority with this.

i think it still can. PS4 shipped 15.4 million last year. thats higher than the PS3's peak year. this year it will likely have a price cut and has some big games like uncharted hitting. remember, uncharted, a new GTA, gran turismo, god of war still havent hit this console.

Its great the the PS5 did so well, but we're talking about the PS4 here, will that hit 100m+?

Also its defenetly not selling as much this weeks so i can see why vivster wanted a "sanity check", but lets wait for the Order and Bloodborne to come out and lets see how much of an impact they make on sales.

I know the Big Guns haven't been shown yet but what's after that? Will the Gen even be long enough to get that high?

If sony are consistent with the quality and quantity of games in the next few years that we say in the later years of ps3, then 100m is very likely. PS3 sold ~80m. PS4 will definitely beast that.

Europe will get a huge boost with the likes of gran turismo.
USA will get a boost when the big IP's hit, and Japan is topsy-turdy right now, but if SCEJ can pull some guns out the bag, that could be a good few million there.

So far sales were never high enough to put it on a path to 100 million. It would take a big YOY increase in 2015 for this path to open, but so far it's down 20% even with japan and stock.
