To be honest, this doesn't really bother me for two reasons.. Firstly, I think the second game is much, much better than the first one and secondly, Turtle Rock didn't do a very good job with Evolve. Hopefully L4D3 will turn out very well!

Mixed feelings here.
I am happy that Turtle Rock will not be making it, because it would probably end up a DLC-fest like Evolve is.
Sadly, with the IP in Valve's hands, this means that L4D3 will come out no sooner than 2027, if it ever comes out.

Loved both games in the series, and am still holding a bit of hope for part 3 to be multiplatform, if it is ever made.

Assuming anyone will ever work on Left 4 Dead 3. That's your only mistake.

Developers just make content, publishers decide how it is distributed.

Good.. at least for now. Regaining the trust of gamers should be their starting point. However, 2K is also involved in this as well, so should Left For Dead 3 happen, both sides need to take a look at the reception of Evolve, as gamers will not invest in another game built from the ground up for "DLC" and micro transactions.

That article isn't confirming Left 4 Dead 3's existence, it's just saying that a possible Left 4 Dead 3 is not going to be developed by Turtle Rock!
