Forums - Nintendo Discussion - If XCX is complete enough that someone can play 300 hours of it, what's the wait?

I just thought about it. Xenoblade Chronicles X is in a finished enough state that someone was able to log more than 300 hours into it last month. If the game has been that complete for that long, why is it taking until the end of April to come out in Japan?

We've already heard that localization is well underway... Hm...

Final polish. The 300 hours playthrough is surely part of testing to find final issues to fix.

Polish, Nintendo won't allow releasing a game so big and important with any kind of glitches.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Like others have said. Bug-testing and troubleshooting.

This is usually the time where the Nintendo Seal of Quality usually earns its stripes. I think this is the stuff that makes Nintendo stand out vs the other AAA publishers.

its not a TES game, they try to fix some bugs...

You gotta debug a game. might work OK for 300 hours, but gotta make sure that 300 hours is not an freeze filled and bug infested ride.

Demonstrably untrue.

Hmm... are you anxious Spemanig? ^^

I will be happy enough if it comes out in the summer. If it only comes out in the fall i will be annoyed though.

But i understand though. Things are a bit dry until the Witcher 3 comes out, unless you like the Souls series.

As others have said, being able to play a game for 300 hours doesn't mean the game is 100% finished.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I don't think you understand how game development works...
