My mistake, for some reason I thought Wolverine was an avenger before Spiderman.   I doubt Marvel will go through all this trouble with Sony to not have alot of spiderman with the avengers, but Spiderman can hold his own without the avengers.  Now I wish Fox would give up Xmen so Marvel can make an Avengers vs Xmen movie.

Easily made, they joined officially in the same story arc (New Avengers #1-6 in 2006). It's not Marvel remember, it's Disney. Disney want ownership of their characters again to do with as they please, not let someone own a part of them. Maybe you are right and we will see Spider-man in an Avengers film he just will be so oddly placed it would be laughable (to me anyway) but hey, can't be anyworse than Sunsport and Cannonball in Avengers right now. Anyone reading that jibberish? It's like Hickman threw up on a piece of paper then gave it to editorial.

Also, if the plot replicates Avenger vs X-men then no, we need a whole new story and one that doesn't obviously paint the X-men as bad guys.

lol i dont think im up to date on all the comics but did see some comics that had sunspot and cannonball. They definitely seem off for Avengers.  And I agree that Spiderman will be oddly placed in with the avengers.

If we cant have avengers vs xmen then at least just get xmen back.  It's feels odd that Avengers cant use the word 'mutants' and how can you have a movie with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch without Magneto.  I'm really curious to see how this will all play out.

Sony bought ownership of Spiderman in 1999 i believe for just $7million.  I wonder how much Disney would pay to buy from Sony?

If you start reading (again?), skip Avengers until after whatever they are doing is done. I'm only reading 3 Marvel books, the main 2 X-men books plus Avengers and Avenger is incoherent. It's covering a story over several months in comics, several books in comics and too many characters. Hickman also introduced New Universe characters into the 616. Basically god like characters. I think he thinks he's writing the Justice League, no "Earth's Mighiest Heroes".

This is my biggest issue with the affair, the term 'mutant'. Whoever signed that contract that made is so Fox had the term mutant was a right idiot, hope they got sacked. And yes, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver without their history are just not them.

It's weird, you'd think Disney could come up with a way to null these contracts, break them even and just pay a fine. Anything.

Hmm, pie.

Not going to happen. I don't see why Fox would give up control of X-Men. Fantastic 4 I could see them giving up if the reboot sucks, but not X-Men.

Fox's should give up control of Xmen movies because  all of their xmen movies are horrible and ruining the franchise brand.  Marvel needs to work on getting that back asap.

Good news that spiderman will be joining the avengers but I feel it'd be more important if Wolverine was in on it since he was made an avenger before spiderman and Wolverine and Captian America have a history together.

Except for the fact people keep watching them and their latest film, Days of Future Past, did the best commercially and criticallly in the series. They're not going to give up control. At some point we might see some crossover, but I don't see Fox giving up complete control of the X-Men.

I hope they actually do what people wont expect and not make a big deal out of it. I like the 1602 route just have him show up with Nick Fury one day, say this is Peter Parker. No costume yet but he has powers and experience and progress from there.

I think they could easily do it by say establishing characters or terms instead of just ignoring it. Mention Oscorp a few times and that is enough.

Also, think smaller, just because Spiders is in the MCU, doesn't mean he going to jump into the Avengers anytime soon, took Spider-man 45 years to do that in the comics. This however doesn't mean he can't be referenced in someone or others can't guess star in his side. Lets put it this way, DareDevil and Spider-man are good friends.

I dont suggest in jump into Avengers, just show face and leave. I think he might be too big for Daredevil TV but i wouldnt mind

Really?! i thought Avengers got way better. Why not drop it then? I kinda gave up I feel that Disney is starting to infringe on the comics. I can see them lowering the importance of anything not owned by them, its already started.

Not about control, just mutual ideals. All Fox have to do is let mutants be part of the MCU and I'm fine with it, the X-men need never appear along side Cap or Hulk, they rarely do anyway in comics (until recently anyway). BUT Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch not being mutants? Their father not being Magneto? That's a little too much for a fanboy like me to ignore.

But Magneto's not there father it was retconned in the comics.  Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were originally the children of WW2 superheroes then it was retconned to Magneto now it's being retconned to someone else.

I like everything that I just read. :D

Hopefully, no man in the suit screw up like what happened with Spiderman 3.

The contract was sighned when Marvel was facing bankruptcy for the second time in a decade and the money they got was enough to start Making there own films.  Just think if those contracts never happened Marvel would have gone bust the comics would have ended and the popular characters would have been bought in full by big studios why the lesser known may have ended up owned by hundreds of companies.
