do you ever read the comics? Marvel comics?
Great news. Spidey is Marvel's biggest character and it'll be nice to see him crossover with the Avengers. However, I hope they use Andrew Garfield. He really was a great Spider-Man.

Yes, I know that this happens in comics but I have never been a fan of it. I'm not a huge comic reader, but the ones I HAVE enjoyed are the ones where these guys are handling their shit on their OWN. I know I'm in the minority here, but that's just how I like my super heroes.
When I pick up an issue, or see something like Batman vs. Superman... I always cringe. It's to comics and comic based movies what cross overs are to TV shows (for me anyway).

It was my movie OTY for 2014. Gwen's death was BEAUTIFULLY executed, the most emotional superhero scene in a long time. Spidey's personality was spot-on. Electro's powers and effects were done really well, Harry had a harsh (in a good way) character arc

there is so much wrong with this post i don't there where to begin but i will start with the obivous one
Batman and Spider-Man will never cross cover in terms of films cause Batman is a DC character and Spider-Man is a Marvel character and secondly Marvel characters like Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron-Man, Thor, Hulk, Deadpool, Fantatic and all of the X-Men etc have all been in the same universe in terms of comics since the 60's and still are to this very day and most of them were created back then same thing apply's to DC charcters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Women, Aquman, Green Lantern, and Flash etc.

You have a good point, but I feel it only applies to DC movies. Batman vs. Superman reeks of something made just to catch up with Marvel. For fuck's sake, they're introducing Wonder Woman and Aquaman on that movie.
Marvel did FIVE movies before The Avengers. With each hero having their own individual films, the collective movies are free to be non-sensical, delicious actionfests with a little exposition.
@OP: BOOM. That was my reaction. About fucking time, Spidey was out of MCU to star on a decent movie and then a terrible one. This Amazing Spider-Man reboot was such a mistake, imo.

Sony's Spiderman reboot sucked imo, nowhere near as good as the Sam Raimi Spiderman movies. I doubt I'll be watching any future Spiderman movies, and that's a sad fact since he's my favorite superhero : ( |
But the Sam Raimi movies were Sony movies too =P
So it's the director's fault really. Just have to choose it better.

I thought Columbia Pictures did the Raimi trilogy? Then Columbia's rights expired after Spiderman 3 and Sony got the rights, then Sony and Raimi got into a disagreement over the future of the series and Spiderman 4 got cancelled while it was still in pre-production. Probably the only thing that'll make me watch these new Sony Spiderman movies is if they reboot a 2nd time with a new director and new cast, some of the casting in the reboot was just awful. Also, bring back MJ as Peter's main love interest, I always liked her more than Gwen. |
Sony Pictures is Columbia Pictures.
To your second point this is a full reboot. New cast, new creative team, new everything.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
