Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo should just buy VD-Dev already

VD-Dev(Ironfall and Conduit) prove they can make amazing looking games for the hardware they are given and hey are only a group of 3(well 2 one was a lead designer of watch dogs O_O) and have been making Nintendo excluisves for many years.

I personally believe Nintendo should buy them, make them bigger(make them a 75-100 person team), give them more resources, and make them first party.

This would give Nintendo 2 mature Ips Ironfall(which has so much potential on Wii U to bring in some hardcore gamers with online multiplayer) and Conduit.

Agree or Disagree?

Nintendo doesn't need good looking games. They need good games.

No offense to those guys, but Nintendo can find better western talent than that.

I agree with buying somebody, they need more games.

Too small. They can't just toss in a bunch of guys and hope it all works out. I agree they should expand, but in a organic manner. Even a 10 man team can pull off miracles.

Also, I'm 99% sure they don't own The Conduit IP. That was High Voltage.

Are u sure they made Conduit? I thought that was High Voltage

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

They have nothing to do with Conduit. It was all High Voltage. The most recent game they made was C.O.P., which was pretty much a Grand Theft Auto 3 game for the DS. They are pretty much an indie dev company that specializes in making technologically impressive games for Nintendo handhelds.

I personally think Nintendo should buy them, or at least enter a publishing deal with them. Nintendo could help steer them in the right direction on future projects. Pretty much every dev that's worked with Nintendo has said that they've been very helpful in improving their games.

And the "Nintendo should buy X company" threads just keep coming. I doubt they'll be buying any studios anytime soon, what with how focused they are on being profitable.

Well, there was the case of Nintendo European Research & Development, who developed Mobiclip codec for GBA and DS. They were small team also, but Nintendo bought them at 2001. So why not?
