Congrats Apple

Just shows how skewed their profit margins are compared to others, in other words; how overpriced their products are. I know a few people who work in electronics and they say that Apple products yield the smallest profits at retail since Apple themselves and their distributors take a larger piece of the pie.

Regardless of my personal feelings on Apple though; great work and congratulations on a fantastic holiday season.

I don't like how Apple (and many of its fans) tries to paint itself as a "luxury" brand when they use Chinese sweatshops.

Yeah, they use the same hardware and assembly lines as others, this is something that most Apple fans I know seem to be utterly unaware of. Perceived value rules the world!

Most luxury brands outsource manufacturing to China. Luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Burburry apparently have most of their high volume manufacturing done in China and then simply just assemble the pieces in Europe to be able to slap a 'Made In Italy' or 'Made In France' sticker on them.

I'll stick to my $40 phone...but good job Apple! If only Steve were here to see what even a beast this company would become.

Jesus. 74 million phones. In 3 months, right? Why do people buy so many phones?

I guess Apple is incredibly smart for taking advantage of all this.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

People are a neccessity to most people's lives but they've also taken the place of the exciting must-have electronic product.

Apple has also elevated its brand from just being an electronics/computer company to being a fashion brand. Women want an iPhone as much as they want a Chanel purse or something.

That and a ton of people were waiting for Apple to release larger screened phones.

I'm reasonably happy with my Samsung Galaxy S4 (had an iPhone 4 before), but I might jump back when iPhone 7 comes out.

Apple's market cap could reach 1 trillion if this keeps up.

Proud to be a Californian.
