Male as well, and I think it's for largely the same reasons. Female voices in rock and metal tend to be easily overpowered by the music. It doesn't help that most female fronted bands use it as a sort of gimmick.
But I don't think there are that few great female voices. Certainly I know of more than I can count on one hand.
male
i also like some female vocals but they have to be exactly like this ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3msPoqqCNo&list=LLcqFPfA_1xHHsfeRHgIrULg#t=22 )

Both. Metal bands I listen to have male vocals, while the electronic stuff in my library has mostly female singers. I'm very picky when it comes to vocals though, and have nothing against instrumental stuff.
I am fine with both, it just happens that rock favors male vocals so about 80-90% of what I listen to is male.
Nightwish is a good example of using both male and female vocalists.
