You forgot Metroid Prime 1,2 and 3. Does that throw a wrench into your theory?

no it doesnt. there is still a metroid game released every 8 years.

What about Metroid II?

NES - GB - SNES surely missing the N64 was missing the 4th console? :p

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

well going by that logic theres a mario game released every 8 years too...you cant just forget game to make your hypothesis work.  the only system to not get a metroid game was the N64 and thats cause they cancelled/moved it for the gamecube.

If I were you I wouldn't assume it will skip Wii U because it skipped N64.

Plus, N64 would be the 4th console to have a Metroid game if it was done. There were games for the NES, GB and SNES. And after N64 there were GBA, GC, DS, and Wii games, so if it really had a pattern, Wii would be the one skipped.

I'm pretty sure they'll announce a new Metroid game sometime this year (Most likely E3), and launch it on 2016.

My current Wii U game list:

My current 3DS game list:

you lack sufficient data to make this claim credible. they've only had 6 consoles including the WiiU, which means to even make this a real theory of a pattern we would have to wait until the 7th console came out and had no Metroid games on the WiiU, only then can you say they skip the 3rd console. because right now that isn't a pattern. it's something that has happened 1 time. Ever.

always skips a metroid game on every third console

They skipped the N64. Saying that they always skip the third console because they skipped the N64 is a terrible theory. There's no pattern that you can come up from that.

the theory doesnt work when the years become double digits, so im afraid youre wrong about the 11 years one.

Zelda II: 1987

OOT: 1998

Spirt Tracks: 2009

I'm not too sure what's wrong about that....

its my theory, so i get to decide what numbers you get to use. im not allowing double digits for the years. so youre wrong.

if there is a mario game released every 8th year, then that would work for the mario series. but im talking about metroid and im saying that we could at least expect one in 2018 if nothing else.

What about Prime 2 and 3 tho?

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

OP forgot about Metroid Prime Hunters.

As well as a few other Metroid games.

Nintendo Network ID: Cheebee   3DS Code: 2320 - 6113 - 9046
