Awesome updates!

Does this also fix the issue that you get 2 notifications when people respond to your Status update?

Nope, I had forgotten about that. I'll check it out later today.

Great update Trucks, that's something that's been pretty annoying in the past.

Yeah commenting on someone's status would mean you had to remember to check back on the wall later to see if they replied. No more!

^Ditto what Platina and Ka-pi have said.

Great job Trucks.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

THIS IS NOT A BUG

I have no idea where to post this, so this is probably the best place to post this (unless I make a thread, but I would like to avoid doing that)

This has been bugging me for quite some time, but I may as well address this now. The game collections are reallly outdated and some recent games that have been out for some time cannot be added to my game collection.. D:

Do you know who can fix these things?

Most new games don't have boxarts and release dates..

Mario Kart Wii U is called Mario Kart 8, and The Wind Waker for Wii U is The Wind Waker HD

Fire Emblem 3DS (Awakening) would now be confused as there is another FE game coming to 3DS in 2016

None of these Super Smash Bros names are correct.. Smash Bros Next? Smash Bros Wii U for the 3DS?

...and I can't even add Splatoon to my list

Do you know who can fix these and maybe add boxarts?

The game database is not going to get fixed anytime soon sadly. I don't even know why Gamewise is a thing tbh.

By no means am I trying to denounce your work and contribution to the site. Contrary, because of your great work, I was wondering if other things on the site would improve

Is it possible to allow the community to contribute in correcting titles/boxarts/release dates/etc. for the game databases? This would help you and make things up to date, which would be great

I wasn't implying you were! I was joining in with your complaint :P

Since the database is entirely linked from Gamewise's database there's not a whole lot users here can do beyond signing up to Gamewise and making the changes over there. And even then the changes sometimes don't transfer over (that has been my main source of frustration - I'll make a change over there but it won't properly apply to VGC so I have to pester Brett to manually fix it which causes a delay and prevents me just getting on with certain things).

If we could make direct changes to the database via VGC - or better yet have our own database - that'd save a whole lot of problems, and would allow us to leverage on the desire from the community to help out (even if it's just fixing a box art for a favourite game of theirs that appears in their collection, for example). That was what it used to be like a few years ago.

If Truck can think up a fairly low-hassle way of fixing such problems then I'd be all for it, but I imagine nothing short of a very time consuming major overhaul would do the trick, and it wouldn't be fair to ask Truck to take on such a project given that his work on the site is more of a hobby than anything else and he's already done so much to fix and improve the site. I've not actually broached the subject with him though (feel free to e-mail me if you've got any ideas you'd be willing to pursue, Trucks).

Oh, sorry, totally misunderstood your post :p

Thanks for the explaination.. never knew it was that complicated. Definitely would be nice if that was the case though, so more people can help fix up and make things up to date!

Platina was afraid of your wrath!

As for the game DB, I have yet to inspect that section of the site and I'm quite scared to do so. I suppose the old tools are still present in the code but I have no idea how the synchronization with Gamewise works. From what you say it's not a direct link from one to the other but if there's a complete overwrite of the VGC information with Gamewise information from time to time, edits on VGC would get removed each time the sync happens.

Speaking of things that need to be fixed, why don't General Discussion threads show up on the main page? The " What song are you currently listening to?" thread has been pretty much dead this year and in 2014 despite being   very active in other years.

Anyone? I would like to know why General Discussion don't show up on the main page. Off-topic has been much weaker ever since that happened.
