Either way it's a great idea. Good work Trucks! Hopefully I'll have some good news for you soon

Only been stickied recently, and it is a good way to see updates

Wonder what that may be...? ;)

Ah cool, and I agree. Do stickied threads show up in hot topics yet?

Well I can hardly tell you now or that would ruin it!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I was wondering, would it be possible to make a block function that not only blocks people from your profile but hides their posts from you? That would be the greatest thing ever.

I'm sorry okay?! I'll be a better poster next time!

I don't know if this has already been brought up. I also am not sure if this deserves its own tread. I think it does because of how important the issue is, but I'll post here first and guage opinions from there.

How does VGC plan to address digital sales?

Seriously. Like, I get that some people don't like digital, but it's important and an impossible to ignorable part of gaming sales now. I was thinking about how anchient Gamestop is for not evolving with the expanding digital ecosystem, but isn't VGC sort of in the same boat? I look at the sales of games on the site, and absolutely none of them from the 7th gen onwards can be considered accurate because we don't factor digital sales. I looked at P4G selling 99K and it's impossible to ignore the potential thousands of sales not being accounted for because we currently pretend that digital sales don't exist. I look at the fact that Steam, a platform with 125m+ active users, has absolutely no sales representation on this site, and I scratch my head. I look at how there's no way to track the sales of DLC, and I think about how forward thinking it would be for a site like us to track that sort of stuff. I think about how 99% of indie games are unrepresented on the site because they're digital only. This, in my humble opinion, is a gaping problem for the website, and probably the biggest one for VGC going forward.

I'm not ignoring the difficulties behind getting these numbers, or even the chance that it may be highly improbable and even impossible for a site like VGC to ever be able to track digital sales, but if this pertains, no matter how good the intentions behind this site are, the whole "sales tracking" focus of the site has a hard, tangible, and near expiration date. Maybe that means shifting the focus from sales tracking to sales analyzing, but the current method of flat out ignoring digital when it's an ever rising important factor in gaming sales is disingenuous and honesly behind the times.

I don't know how VGC plans to change in the wake of an ever expanding digital gaming ecosystem, but it needs to start that change ASAP. Either figure out how to track digital sales, change the focus from tracking to analyzing, or do something else brilliant that I could never think of. But if VCG keeps on this route, it's going to seriously become irrelevant. Companies don't consider digital sales unimportant. Neither should we.

I don't know if it's my problem or if something is odd with the site.

Today I've been having problems with the layout of the web. The page starts to load fine, but every now and then and all of a sudden, the whole thing moves to the left to the point that the forum buddy disappears.

Coincidentally or not, when this happens a new kind of add, a "pop-up" kind of window either at the top or the bottom of the page.

Btw, I'm on Firefox 41.0.1

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I've been having this weird redirecting issue for this past while, but it's a bit difficult to explain.

I use the default settings of 10 posts per page and use Firefox (up to date)

So basically, when a thread reaches a multiple of 10 posts, including OP (10, 20, 50, 100, 1900 etc) and I read all of the messages, and I try to open it again from 'My Topics' it will redirect me to the front page (http://www.vgchartz.com/#1) This does not happen when posts are not in multiples of ten (since I'm using 10 posts per page)
For example: Thread "ABXY" has 40 posts in total and I read all of 40 posts. Then, after refreshing 'My Topics' page, I click on ABXY to check on that topic again, but it will redirect me to the home page.

My guess on why this happens is because it is trying to forward me to the next post in that thread which would be on the next page, but since it doesn't exist, it redirects me to the front page.

I've just checked and can confirm the problem exists on 50PPD too, on Chrome here (comes up with #1 at the end of the URL).

What did you do Trucks!

I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the detailled report.
