So if you simply disregard parts of the market; your product comes out on top? I'm glad you're not running a business either, this is not how global shipping and distribution works for any product. Sales being up is not automatically tied to profits and being good for business either, especially since it is said that Nintendo are losing money on each unit; if this is the case then software should be the most desired sale of them all to cover costs, five products on the top 20 software are on Nintendo platforms despite the 3DS being the second best-selling console globally, there is much to be desired for them here if they want to make a significant amount of money.

10 items selling at a loss per unit = a loss. 100 items selling at a loss per unit = loss. 43.000 items selling at a loss per unit = shockingly enough; a loss.

Once again yes you do take the big three into consideration on how well your system is doing. In these poorer under devoloped countries buying PS4 probably not selling and PS3 probably is doing better in those countries. Running business is making a product that you feel some people want and beinging profitable, which Nintendo is doing right now. Sales being better than last year is always good for you regardless if it's only by 100s or 1000s or 10000s it's called progress.

Another point, RC Cola made by the Dr.Pepper/7up company is not worldly popular as Coke or Pepsi but they still make it. Why? It's making them money maybe not as popular as Coke and Pepsi but it is still being made. Like I said worrying about beating the other guys every generation just ruins your business. Sega is the Prime example of this

I think you missed his point.

He is not saying it is bad to enhance sales. He is saying it's bad to avoid the market on purpouse and that if you are losing money per unit sold, selling more isn't a win.

I seriusly expect the jen NPD for know the REALLY sales.
PS4 seems correct (maybe little undertracked), 3DS maybe is dropped 75k-80k, and XBO at 40k-50k.

I'm not missing his point I'm just reinstating mine which he danced around. How are they avoiding the market anyway? Because most third party's will not port a game to them? Boy if that is the market today we are screwed gaming wise. Like I said numerous times Keep worrying about the beating the other companies and you will end up like Sega. All Sega cared about was beating Nintendo didn't care about game development, quality, and what fits for Sega, just we need to beat Nintendo. Nintendo does those three things and it's the reason people come back to Nintendo

Yep... All those 9M of Nintendo on WiiU are with them just because they don't think about beating competition (they never tried monopoly and squat concorrence during nes times, ending in their demise on n64) while all the 160M ps2 ownersjust bought because Sony only though about destroying Nintendo. Makes sense, and having 9M fanbase is clearly better.

Sorry, one of those was me :(, forgive me, japan.

Really? What made you purchase the 360?

The games obviously?

That and Tamron took my other 360s apart to use for work.

Take this with a grain of salt, but, did you ever think that the Wii wasn't designed to compete with the PS3 and 360 but the Wii U was?

the Wii def was not designed to compete, but i hope the 2nd part isnt true because that would be dumb

has anyone thought that maybe the PS3 is that damn good?
